Board Gamers Poker Chip Interest Thread (4 Viewers)

I disagree with this. .25 is used in almost no board games, its added to make these chips appeal for poker purposes as well and when you have 100 quarters in front of you and 1 25, it's pretty obvious which is which haha. 0.25 and 1/4 look terrible.

Bags with $$$$ on them!

Ugg, I specifically want chips that don’t have a money theme, besides many 18xx titles not technically being denominated in dollars, I want them for other games where they’re not currency at all

Almost none of the chips Apache sells have casino or Las Vegas on the mold. That is very much out of style.

Dunes - Hotel/Casino
Majestics - Card Room
Pharaohs - Casino

Every china clay (and almost every other chip) Apache sells is casino/hotel/poker themed.

20: White on gray is too bland for my tastes. I’d l.o.v.e. pink instead (like on the 25).

I think you’ll find a general revolt against a pink 20. Although feel free to label that for your own. Gray 20s were part of the suggested spec as it’s very common in 18xx circles. I’ve personally grown to appreciate a yellow 20, but I’m still highly considering relabeling that blue 10 as the one.

Majestics (crowns and diamond shapes) aren't themed IMO. There are always a couple exceptions to prove the rule.
Oh yes, the mold isn't particularly card/casino themed, just the labels. Likewise for Milanos. That is why I currently own a mostly-undenominated set of Majestics. But Mints are about the only non-poker themed chips with a decent label and when compared to china clays are found wanting.

Im in for a set Josh but have specific color chips - using those labels but different denominations

I have not read through all of the pages of this thread to know if colors have been selected but I would like to voice my opinion as to what I’d want if you have the flexibility of doing a one off If my color choice does not align with the group.

Also want all the labels to look like the $10.00 chip pictured with that white around the number.

I would commit too:

500 100. ( grey/black )
500 500. ( purple)
500. 1000. ( yellow/black)
500. 5000 (. Flag)
500 10,000. ( blue $10 chip)

Just want to make sure this are casino size chips. Correct?

I know ^^ The keyword was "on". A gray 20 is fine. It’s just the white edge spot on gray I don’t like. Hence "pink instead" (of the white edge spot on the gray 20) same color as the pink edge spot on the 25. => Gray 20 with pink and black edge spots.
I’ll be more verbose next time …

If they make the twenty that looks like the Paulson Noir 5000 style I think we have a winner.

Paulson Noirs looks like the best coloring scheme.

We have listened to your comments and see that most of you guys prefer colored labels.
Here is the newest set with color matching. We tried to simplify the art a bit so it is not too busy and easier on the eye.
I do not see many more changes!

Last gasp request for the previous colored plus black text version...

...but I'm in for these.

I like em. In for 500-600 whenever you open the pre order.

Though remain intrigued if custom labels are available. Really love the look of that 10 with blue background label but $10's won't get used as much as $1's or $20's.

Either way, my money is all yours!

I wish i din't spend so much money to buy the Milano las year ! I would gladly buy these for my 18XX games...

I really like everything about these chips... colors, spots, artwork.
I like them all but the 2000 chip is my current fav. Wow
Looking forward to pictures of the samples.

Is this project cancelled? I posted in the BGG order thread, but now both that and the discussion thread are gone.

A little forewarning would have been nice.

Wow yes, it apparently did. Might have run afoul of the "selling stuff" rules.

I have been approached by the owner of an 18xx board game to make a general purpose set for gamers.
For this project to move ahead I need at least 30,000 chips to be sold. Pricing will be $.35 each.
The chips will be 39mm. For board gamers a grey 20 and 2000 chips are required. So this can crossover for poker sets I can add .25, 25, and 1000 chips.
Here are some early concepts. Spot patterns and center art are not locked in yet so some changes will happen as needed.
If you are interested let me know. Please post information to generate interest in board gamers forums if you can.

Additional notes (Updated 7/8)
Labels in just about any denomination will be available.
Blank chips will be available.
Possible custom mold?

The 3rd mock with the color matching inlays is the best.
