Bicycle Prestige Narrow & wide Jumbo and Regular index cheap (1 Viewer)

I received mine, each deck has the warranty card, no box. I like the backs and the colors. The cards feel like my 2012 WSOP cards. For the price I can live without a box.

I wish I would have bought more.

Got mine yesterday too (narrow-jumbo index). My kids were super disappointing as they thought the package (which was about the right size) contained Pokkén Tournament for the Wii U. :ROFLMAO:

Cards feel nice, I like the colors and back design as well. Might pick up some more despite the omission of the box.

There are lots of reasons for these to be sold without the Box, other than being seconds.

For example, a playing card manufacturer probably makes and wraps the cards... But it probably does not manufacture the boxes. So they could simply have a stock mismatch and want to clear out some inventory. Also, they may not do the packaging themselves. So they probably shipped their cards and the boxes to a third-party packager. If they made a change in the package design, or if they decided not to do boxes anymore, or if they decided to change the case packs... they might well just want to get rid of a bunch cases of cards, without having paid to get them packaged before shipping. So some vendor over here got them cheap, and is selling them cheap to get a small profit.

Mine haven't come in yet.

I am really curious what the opinion is on these from people ordering. I got some Bicycle Prestiges a year or so ago and they seemed excessively thick compared to Kems / Copags / Designs, etc. Just generally a pain to shuffle/deal, and my group ended up ditching them for the standbys listed.

Are these still the uber thick Prestige? Or have they changed the formula?

Maybe we can get a review?

These are made by fournier aswell, but i think theyre thinner than the standard prestige were use to seeing. At least the narrow version.

I doubt they've changed. I did a review when they first appeared. But an update wouldn't hurt.

If you find these too thick, stay away from Modiano and Gemaco.

Agreed. I played with the narrow jumbo version for 11 hours. They are super thin.

Thanks for the review link and tip. Curiously, I've never used either of those other brands - I guess I just got lucky. My Kems, Desjgns, and Copags are what see the most use in my games.

Don't get me wrong, the Prestige is certainly a great card of great quality. The thickness/feel just didn't go over well with my group for whatever reason. To each their own!

Just ordered 1 Jumbo - Poker sized. I am bummed the setup doesn't come with a case, but I'd rather know going in, than finding out when it arrived. Still a good price.

I was surprised when they came without a case as well. Probably why its such a good price.

Forgot to post after I got mine...

They are a bit slippery, but I haven't played them yet - I'm sure they'll be less slippery after a an hour of handling.

They feel a bit stiff when shuffling, especially for an end-riffle, but they're fine for a standard dealer's riffle.

The stiffness can make you suspect they're thicker, but they aren't - it's just stiffness. They may soften a bit with use, but Fourniers feel softer out of the box.

They are the exact same thickness as KEM arrow-backs:

(These are just the 52 playing cards per deck for all four decks; no jokers or inserts.)

Conclusion: for $5 a deck, an incredible value for plastic cards.

Anyone recommend a specific case to buy? I think the cards are a good value but the deck I opened had two different shades of red for the hearts and diamonds. Not I big deal but you can notice this.

I got these recently, they fit well for poker-size cards (works okay for bridge-size, but would prefer less lateral movement). Six boxes for less than $7 with free shipping. I cut out some small foam pieces to prevent up-down movement. I didn't want slide-on covers, these seem to stay closed better:

I just receive a bridge set up with no box (expected). All seems good. At this price I may by several set ups and store them wrapped to replace my others when they get nasty. IMO these are extremely high quality cards at a crazy low price

As for boxes, I can just use the old boxes from my Kems that warped or Copags that bled:mad:

After playing with these at the Rumble Warmup at @justsomedude 's place, I just ordered 10 setups.... I couldn't help myself... :)
nitzilla

I almost did the same but the narrow regular index (my crew hates both large index and poker sized cards) are now $14. I figured I would keep the box I had from set I bought a few years ago and replace them when they got nasty. I guess $14 isn't a bad deal in that they are superior to Copags IMHO.
