Artwork discussion for new Paulson chips (2 Viewers)

Before 2008 this was the breakdown:

“The money comes in 20 orange $500 bills, 20 beige $100 bills, 30 blue $50 bills, 50 green $20 bills, 40 yellow $10 bills, 40 pink $5 bills, and 40 white $1 bills.”

In sept. 2008 it changed to a standard 30 bills of each denom.

I think I’m gonna have to get a monopoly breakdown of this set.

Little reason not to at this price if you're involved with games at all. I bought 25x8 denoms, and if I don't like it (yeah, right) then I'll just donate it as a lot to be auctioned at the JVMF charity auction.

This is what I ordered of the new chips for a Monopoly set that can also double as a Heads-Up poker set.

50 x 1
50 x 5
50 x 25
50 x 100
25 x 500

It will not be enough to cover some board games but will be plenty for Monopoly and some other games.

Dam thought forsure it would be B or C design. Oh well

I think that is C with the 25K Purple because the .25 brown was added.

No the background art is different.

It's a mix of C and E

The art work in the background is 100% E. Thick swirly circles. Looks like a tribal tattoo

The design choice was totally C; it has nothing to do with E.

The 25k went blurple, taking brown fro the .25.... but there's a different error leading to the confusion:

@Apache - the group-shot image being used for the chips is missing a background element and does not match any of the proposed art sets. The single-chip images have the artwork from the proposed sets. Might want to sort out the mismatch.

This is the final art. I have so many groups of artwork it is hard to keep track of everything!

We felt this version is less busy, easier to read and with more chip color each chip will be no problem to differentiate.

I ended up cancelling my order as these ended up very different from the original design that I was very excited about. However, I am really considering picking up a set of bounty chips though.

It looked to me like the majority was pretty happy with the background art on C. The artwork on D and E seemed almost, chunky. Maybe I’m being too picky, but I thought the thin leafy background art was a lot nicer, classier even. Why the change?

@Apache

Thank you for taking the time to make a fantastic stock offering for people! It’s been a long time since we have had stock clay chips from GPI/Paulson/BCC (last was in 2014?) so this is a huge leap forward for the entire community!

Thank you!

I am not intending to be negative...just being straight up. I don't like any of these designs.

What about doing a commemorative set similar to the Dunes CC set?

It would be amazing to have a commemorative clay set for any of the following:

- Tropicana
- Golden Nugget
- Mapes
- Bellagio
- Binions
- Flamingo

Thanks for all your work Josh.

Limitations make these unlikely, only one spot pattern available. Also if CPC won’t make chips with casino names on them why would GPI? I think he did the best he could given the restrictions (one of which I believe at some point was non denomination)

CPC made Mel's Mapes set based off the original set. I am not asking for replicas...

There are plenty of ways to make the commemorative chips look different enough from the originals to avoid people trying to pawn them off as OGs.

I would be super interested in a tropicana commem set that did not have denoms or the name of the casino...

but yeah if this is the best we can do at present because of restrictions from GPI I will just keep my mouth shut.

Sorry I took the “commemorative” to be like the Dunes, Pioneer China clay commemorative which are almost replicas not tribute.

@Lemonzest you could always just come up with your own design and have them make it

I will get CPC customs made at some point. I was just giving my 2 cents if Josh was already going to the work of getting GPI to make chips may as well go for a design with a bit more mass appeal.

ya they dont quite do it for me either. I meant you could get gemaco to make your design on these same chips

I think these are a great improvement from the original artwork that got put aside. I also think these appeal to the masses.

Truth! I’m just happy this is happening. It’s a sign of good things to come. Appreciate all the effort @Apache has put into this.

Also- how awesome is it that we can get Paul-son racks!?
