Anyway to get cheaper labels than gear? (1 Viewer)

Well first of all it has to be said, that Gear is the undisputed number one address. Nothing comes close and I would highly recommend going that route. The waiting time and price definitely are worth the wait. I never heard of anyone not being happy with his work. Do it and you won't regret it!

BUT

I read a thread about Sticker Mule being quite good as well with reasonable pricing and good customer service. You might want to use the search function on the forum and you should be able to find more information about them.

Buy once cry once. I've never used gear, but everyone says they are the best. Use something cheaper and theres a possibility that you'll end up ripping them off and redoing them. And if that's the case, you should have just went with the more expensive option first. (Or maybe an inexpensive label would work just fine for you. YMMV)

There are some threads on do-it-yourself labels. At one point I had access to cheap printing so I printed some labels on vinyl, then took two sheets back to back with the fronts out and had that laminated. Then I cut the laminate from the edges and had two laminated label sheets. Then I used a punch from hobby lobby to punch them out, and then peeled and applied.

I only did this for one set. Cheap labels, looked good, but mountains of work. I’ve used @Gear for all my labels since then. It wasn’t impossible, it just wasn’t worth the time savings and they were ok, just not casino grade. I would only go the DIY route with slugged chips, anything else of real value I’d take the time and expense to make it look like it was always that way.

Print your own. Just expect the results to not be quite as good. For 15-16 cents a label, it's worth it IMO.
I've done this with the Avery label tool maker and have had good results. After the sheet of labels print and the ink is dry, I spray a light coat of clearcoat over it; then let them dry before applying to chip.

If you can get a coating, like a clear coat, it seriously helps.

Says the other half of the Great PCF Chip Murder Cartel. Josh mutilates 'em and Gear sews 'em back together.

Seriously though, I have dealt with @Gear multiple times and have had nothing but A+ experiences with him.

To be fair, Gear mills too. But I think I've got him a smidge of business. A hint.

The question isn’t cheaper it’s quicker! But based on what other people have experienced…worth the wait! I’m on a 3 mo waitlist. 2 to go!

There are sign makers in nearly every strip mall. Sign makers will have the equipment and materials to print and cut laminated vinyl labels just like you would get from Gear or from Sticker Mule. You can walk in with a printout of your artwork to show them and the original files on a thumb drive, tell them exactly what you want (including the exact diameter label you need) and they'll give you a price and a delivery estimate.

Your local sign shop might not have the reputation that Gear has, so you'll be taking a risk that they'll screw it up somehow, but you can get it done without waiting for Gear's backlog to get caught up to your place in the queue.

Yeah thought of that, that’s why I decided I’d rather just wait so it’s done right!

I know a guy - nobody does labels cheaper than him.

Would like to put custom labels on my set, are there any other cheaper ways to go about it?
I have 1100 un-labelled Nexgen Lucky Bee's that have remained unlabelled because the inexpensive chips are hard to label with equal cost labels....however I bought those chips in 2005 and other than @Gear I have seen nothing even close to the price and quality.... I thought it would be easy just to get black and white labels printed at a business shop but good luck finding the exact right size of sticker.

@Gear (I have never bought anything yet) seems to have the market with both knowledge and ability distinguishing them from other options of custom relabelling. If I ever find a roulette wheel, i'll look into labels for my nexgens as Sloth Club Roulettes/non denom

Ya… we will see ha. I’d rather have someone under promise and over deliver.
If I’m told two months and I’m still waiting at 3.5 months I’ll be an unhappy customer. Tell me six months and get them to me in four and I’ll be happy. Not rocket science.

We hear you, and we are sorry for all the delays.

Our goal is to under promise and over deliver, but getting to that point can be a circuitous route sometimes.
We recognize our faults, please know we are working towards reducing them.

Sorry again.
