Wow! What a change after oiling. I thought these were ABS plastic? Do B&G's absorb that much oil?
They don't absorb it like clay chips does. It is essential to wipe after with absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Otherwise, you won't get the desired result (sticky chips, dried, shiny oil residue).

They're plastics, although "ceramics" are also basically made of plastic

i believe @MilouPilou1 meant unweighted and not unleaded .
After checking, I have a doubt about the terminology of the word but I trust you for your translation. In French we say "ballasted" and "non ballasted ". Looks like it corresponds to "unweighted" indeed.

@Florentin @semsallem any toughts about that? Are they weighted with lead?
they have a metal insert to give them the additional weight. Describing them as leaded or unleaded will create confusion for newbies who are learning about leaded and unleaded clay chips.
