Alibaba Ceramic Poker Chips (3 Viewers)

So is Justin also same company as Tina
Ya Justin is just wholesaling Tina products and making the process super easy for PCFers. He orders it to ship on a boat and then reships from USA, unless you're ex-US, like me, and Tina will ship directly from china to you with UPS or similar. You can find his sale thread for this month here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/chips-web-jester-greek-sun-tangiers-november-2025.136777/

Tina is the name of the sales associate/contact for the aforementioned Chinese manufacturer on alibaba. The company is colloquially referred to on PCF as Tina here.

Because Shenzen City Chenglin Industrial is not catchy.

And no. Justin runs Broken Arrow, an American company. He acts as a middle man / wholesaler that communicates with "Tina" to get people custom sets easily. You can go through Tina directly, but then shipping is solely on you and there might be communication barriers or misinterpretations of what you want. Justin batches shipping together and knows how to communicate to Tina what is specifically wanted. I don't know for sure, but I imagine he takes a small cut off the top from the orders for his business. This is probably negated to you the consumer with everyone pooling together for shipping. I would imagine he also gets some bulk discounts.

Also, Justin and Tina seem to know some... way... around the tariff issues when they work together. I'm sure they just both agree to eat the cost to help the consumer, so calm down little customs agent reading this.

I’m UK based and have bought a few sets over the last few months.
Pick out what you want from what’s available, tell Justin, arrives 4 weeks after the buy closes. Really easy. Takes out all the hassle.

That's my WIFE!

Quick question, going to be ordering my chips from lyman in the next week or so… in respect to design of the chips, I know exactly what I want, essentially centre in white wi the our logo and denomination etc… then the rest of the chip a base colour with edge spots… if I mocked up an image of each chip and sent over to lyman would they design them or do I need to send a design file for each chip denomination?

I think you need the actual art file completed and the colors on a CYMK scale. If you have no skill with something like adobe then there are artists here that can do if for you. If you have your inlay art completed then its even cheaper. I recommend @Okku. I just did the same thing with him and it was a very smooth process for a great price.

Then I recommend using the group buy with @justincarothers to get better pricing.

Hi all, right I am at the stage with ceramic where I have been sent a photo of the ceramic printed on one side so I can check colours etc. however, the photo isn’t the best quality and will have to wait a few days for better photos as they will need to be sent to Lyman.

My concern is that on my logo file I have small suit icons (clubs hearts spades and diamonds) will these print ok on final design or are finer details a no no on ceramics? Thanks

It depends on *how* fine the details are and on the quality of the source files you sent them. I have quite a bit of ceramic design and ordering experience. So if you want to DM the source files to me, I'd be happy to assess.

I have sent you a DM, many thanks

I have a question about smooth vs textured no Mold ceramic and which is best in terms of print quality, longevity, feel etc.. is one more like to develop spinners over the other. Any advice would be appreciated

I just ordered some from a company. I can't remember the name off hand, have to look it up.

The communication has been great along the way. Took them about a week to make them. They shipped them yesterday so now sure how long they'll take before I get them, but they sent me the ups tracking info already, but won't be active until they get picked up by UPS.

I won't know the quality until I get them in hand. I went with the smooth finish.
They threw in 10 chip racks as well.

If they are good quality I have another set mocked up I might order. Need to adjust my denominations quanities though, think I ordered too many 500 value chips in the first set.

Is there any reason why you chose smooth over textured? Just debating which way to go at the minute

Cause of the preview they sent me of the sample. I had some samples made elsewhere and liked the smooth. Here's a pic of the texture.

I see, I think I am preferring smooth but there does seem to be a consensus that smooth are too smooth, but I do have a set of turbo ceramics which I believe are Tina ceramic, some of the denoms are textured and some are smooth, but I do feel that the print clarity is better on smooth and there doesn’t seem to be much issue with stacking like others have reported.

I found the smooth Tina ceramics to get slippery fairly quickly. The textured are grippier for a longer period of time.
There are spinners with both. I recommend samples to make up your own mind.

The smooth chips print better *as in color and definition. They can be slightly more slippery, although I have never really found this an issue. My smooth chips are card molds so I guess the molded face would add some friction so that might be why I have never had a slippery issue. I have heard some talk about stacking issues however ceramics are so flat. When you do the pinch each side test on a stack of 10 there is basically no movement textured or smooth. If your having a problem stacking maybe check your drink count or consult your doctor. Below are two samples that have not been in my circulation. Same color codes same factory made the same week. As you can see the top textured chips colors are a bit washed out the card mold smooth are more defined. The factory I order from does charge more for the card mold chip. .30 a chip texture is .20. so price is a consideration. End of the day I went with card mold smooth my buddy who ordered with me to save on some shipping went with no mold textured and we both like our sets and have no regrets

Thanks for this but after discussions with the seller, I decided upon textured. He explained to me that the smooth can show ‘gas’ marks, I clarified what he meant and he said that during the heating process marks can appear on the smooth which cannot be covered (I assume these are shiny marking on the surface as I have noticed this on my smooth turbo ceramics.

On that basis, I went with textured, fingers crossed they are good, just waiting production to finish at the moment.

In terms of colour it was explained to me that colour can vary 10-15% darker or lighter than proof as this depends on the heat so that could be the reason for the colour variance in your chips possibly.

I believe the color difference is caused by the valley and peaks of the surface causing different viewing and printing angles. Like when you spray paint a smooth vs rough ( both non porous) surfaces. I will say I don't really think you can go wrong with either option. Between my group we have 2 sets of card molds and 3 sets of textured ceramic and all are great. As for gas marks I have noticed a few out of 4000 and now thinking about it I think they are just on our card molds. Hope you enjoy your set!

The King is pleased. My this initial set bring you years of joy.

Hi all, I am closing in to completed production of the chips I ordered and will be sent photos this week prior to shipping.

I do have a slight concern as I have looked over the final proof which they created (which I approved to be sent to production) in that some of the rolling edge proofs either seem slightly lighter or darker than the colours on the faces of the chips albeit the same colour just a shade or two darker/lighter. It is difficult to tell if the colours are the same on screen due to how narrow the rolling edge proofs are and the quality of the image sent to me.

Should I be concerned about the rolling edges not matching the colours of the faces.

I did ask them prior to manufacturing whether the colours were the same and they confirmed that they were but on the image they do look different so fingers crossed they are the same colour value.
