Advice for new Canadian seller (1 Viewer)

Laughing with you, not at you. Maybe better to PM the OP with advice on reducing tax exposure. ;)
My beliefs and ideals are way different.

I go my own way. I've got my sets. I'm happy. No regrets and no taxes. Will absolutely use my practice through and through

Respect to all others. We all need to feel secure in what we are doing.

Yes, regulations are in CDN, and at the $20 CDN value, but at the border (and on postal declarations) they seem to work with US $200 as the de facto limit ( I usually state which currency I am referring to, and sometimes give them both). Obviously if you do end up paying tax, they convert to CDN.

Oh yeah. Canada Post 'business' account. Haha, anyone can get one. There is no charge. Everyone should have one.

When setting up a business account for Canada Post what did you use for your business name? Does it matter?

It really doesn't matter.

I use the same "Small Business" account number for both my personal and business account.

I recently used the Tuesday free shipping with my "snap ship" account and it was actually pretty dam awesome. Created, printed and paid for my own label at home. Went to post office, walked in, dropped off, and walked out. Amazing

I reccomend paypal international shipping link. You can find it on google, cuts down on the price
Also make sure he fully understands and fills out the customs forms properly. If you have any additional questions feel free to PM
If you get a Canada Post Solutions for Small Business Account (it's free) you get a preferred shipping rate which is sometimes better than PayPal's, at least in my experience.

Absolutely. I've been using my business card since I started the hobby, and with Snap Ship, it's as easy as click and pay and then send. Quick and painless.

You do get discounted rates and there is some accumulated point system over time to receive other free stuff.
