@pacmartine what would sell your 80x NL $1000s for? Each.
@pacmartine what would sell your 80x NL $1000s for? Each.
You’re welcome, Larry.I believe the highest sale price of record for one barrel on PCF is $6000...
I swear to god I’m not shitting on the buyers or the sellers. It’s apparently where the market is, because multiple buyers seem all good with it. So carry on with your crazy selves!
I’m talking about a sale going on right now where PCA $500s are being sold at $1700 per barrel. And I mention it only because it seems worth mentioning. Just the other night, somebody at my game said that that some PCAs were selling for $100 per chip and I was kind of shocked and actually questioned him. I didn’t realize any Paulsons in playable quantity were selling for that much, and I read most of the stuff that’s posted here.
I realize when it comes to money, everything is relative. Yeah, most people would say that if I’m paying ten bucks apiece for 25 cent chips, I’m insane. And it would be tough to disagree with them. So pot-kettle for sure. But still, seventeen hundred per barrel? Crazy times!
Those are primary 500s, secondary everything elseI got mine at an average of $60/chip. And I definitely overpaid. Mine are secondary, don’t know if that really makes a difference.

I always get confused on those, thanks! Those are primary 500s, secondary everything else
I hope Garrett comes back. He just did a long interview with Doug Polk. Sounds like with a baby on the way, he’s in no rush to come back. But that he’ll probably play on streams again eventually at some point.
If only I had some....sorry!$500 Vineyards! What do I win?
A shot at buying some Mardi Gras perhaps…
Hey, Brie, nobody's criticizing you in any way here. It's just that with all that's going on in our country, the economics of collecting chips -- along with many other activities -- are pretty amazing. We're all very fortunate people...I know my thread probably flabbergasted most of you, and I know the Market is volatile as are the buyers, sellers, and watchers who don't participate. I had to make a decision, that I didn't want to make. I am aware that there's going to be comments made and I have turned a blind ear to them. People here may change their opinion on who I am as a member and or a person and I have accepted that may happen. But, if they wanted to know why I sold all they need to do is ask, it's very simple really. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I know OP is more commenting on the price, but I gathered information from the forum here as others have posted, before making a decision. And believe me when I say it's not the decision I wanted to make, more so, I had to make.
If we do our job right, they will want those poker chips they played cards with their old man with…Then again, my grandparents sunk a fortune investing in paintings and prints. Every wall in their house is covered with a bunch unframed in storage as well. They'd give prints they paid thousands for away as Christmas presents to hang up newer more expensive ones. Now most of them are lucky to bring $25 at a garage sale if they even sell. Yes they look neat but realistically rare or not are still only worth what someone else will pay for them. Seems fads come and go especially with the age and economic status of the people that had certain things as a child.
For me it was 80s toys and video games which drives the demand up as we age.
Gambling chips will probably stay booming until the people die off that remember using them in Vegas and other casinos.
I'm curious what the current kids and teens will wish they still had 30 years from now. That's what we should be holding onto.
You know, in some ways, I regret selling them. As you well know, money isn't everything, and none of us lives forever. I sincerely hope you've enjoyed those chips as much as I enjoyed acquiring them, regardless of cost. You’re welcome, Larry.

Bitcoin? Noooooo...Chipcoin! Yes!Seems to me that some have more dollars than sense. Maybe Paulson should be the makers of the new petro-dollar.
I never understood this take…Seems to me that some have more dollars than sense. Maybe Paulson should be the makers of the new petro-dollar.
I, for one, am happy that we can spend excess funds on hobbies. It’s a position earned by all who do. Enjoy it.
Your $1 is someone’s $100, and your $100 is another’s $1. Perspective and relativity apply.
Now Krish @Windwalker is going to go back and inspect that barrel, one has to be chocolateYou know, in some ways, I regret selling them. And I did keep one just for myself ...
Astronomical to some, I'm sure. Very little to me.
I was just talking about those this weekend! Are they actually one of a kind? My question was why do we never seen them? I guess if one person has all of them, that’s a good answer.
Nah -- I have a large stash of dark chocolate Kit Kats to satisfy that need. Now Krish @Windwalker is going to go back and inspect that barrel, one has to be chocolate
