I’m talking about a sale going on right now where PCA $500s are being sold at $1700 per barrel. And I mention it only because it seems worth mentioning. Just the other night, somebody at my game said that that some PCAs were selling for $100 per chip and I was kind of shocked and actually questioned him. I didn’t realize any Paulsons in playable quantity were selling for that much, and I read most of the stuff that’s posted here.
I realize when it comes to money, everything is relative. Yeah, most people would say that if I’m paying ten bucks apiece for 25 cent chips, I’m insane. And it would be tough to disagree with them. So pot-kettle for sure. But still, seventeen hundred per barrel? Crazy times!

I got mine at an average of $60/chip. And I definitely overpaid. Mine are secondary, don’t know if that really makes a difference.

I hope Garrett comes back. He just did a long interview with Doug Polk. Sounds like with a baby on the way, he’s in no rush to come back. But that he’ll probably play on streams again eventually at some point.

Hey, Brie, nobody's criticizing you in any way here. It's just that with all that's going on in our country, the economics of collecting chips -- along with many other activities -- are pretty amazing. We're all very fortunate people...

You know, in some ways, I regret selling them. As you well know, money isn't everything, and none of us lives forever. I sincerely hope you've enjoyed those chips as much as I enjoyed acquiring them, regardless of cost.

And I did keep one just for myself ... :cool

I, for one, am happy that we can spend excess funds on hobbies. It’s a position earned by all who do. Enjoy it.

Your $1 is someone’s $100, and your $100 is another’s $1. Perspective and relativity apply.

So go buy your $2000 barrel of chips. Or, if you can only afford Tina’s, go buy those.

But don’t be a hater and say that some lack sense…

Agree with this 100%. I wouldn’t spend $85/chip for PCA $500 but I understand why some people would. I don’t know…maybe if I had a set of PCAs I would?

Anyway…If it makes you happy, do it.
 
It’s not unusually for a chip to sell for $85. I mentioned it earlier I’m looking for a Jack $1k secondary chip. I need 8 to fit a barrel. When you have to collect by the singles it can get expensive. It’s going to be expensive for me to track down 8 more Jack Detroit 1k secondary’s. $1700 for a barrel is a bit to much. But I’d pay whatever it takes (damn near) to get 8 more JD $1k secondaries. The market is crazy right now. Just look what I’m willing to do for a few single JD’s. JD stands for Jack Detroit. That’s what I’m looking for. Don’t let the prices of chips catch you off guard @upNdown. Take advantage and sell a few that have skyrocketed like Jack Detroit secondary 1ks.
