I have 8 of these cases, they are APACHE 5800 Weatherproof Protective Rolling Carry-On Cases but they do not have the logo and they do not have the "pluck a part" foam. They were used to ship some custom equipment so the foam inside was designed for that purpose. They are NOT new but they work and function as intended (there is noting broken or cracked, there may be minor scratches).

Replacement "pluck" foam is about $50, would anyone be willing to pay $50 for one? Obviously this would be a deal for local guys, I can imagine shipping would kill the deal for just about anyone as they weigh about 16lbs. Perhaps you could use other foam (not the pluck apart foam) and make this work for your project.

A new Apache 5800 from harbor freight is 99.99 and that’s without any of their coupons or promotions they have all the time.

$50 for used case and $50 for new foam doesn’t seem worthwhile
Ummmmmm, maybe I should add something in the post like "Perhaps you could use other foam (not the pluck apart foam) and make this work for your project". What do you think @joeyshin, do you think that would be a good idea to add to the post?

I would say that the inserts shown in your cases appear to be of a higher quality than the pluck foam that comes with them originally. Have you tried putting Justin racks in there to see if there’s a good configuration?

They do seem to have better foam. If you put some racks (matsui or Justin racks) so we can see how they might fit it might be more helpful. I do need two more 5800s but I like the customization of the pluck. If Rick’s fit snuggly in the existing foam then I might consider them.

I would removed the part of the listing that encourages buying new foam if the visiting foam already works.

Thanks for your post! I'm working on a configuration now. I figured there would be plenty of HELPFUL members here with ideas and yes, I expected some NON HELPFUL comments as well.

Wholly Cripes @Timmah!
Help a fellow Hoosier out.
The dude bought a load of these off eBay and needs to unload them. Of course they fit!
Lol, I didn't get them from eBay. A fellow gun nut has plenty of them for his pistol collection. I'm just trying to help a friend in hopes to help others friends here.

Our buddy Max might be interested, could be too big tho

Without measurements or the pic-a-part foam, I think these are going to be a hard sell. Inside dimensions per the Harbor Freight website are 20.25" x 11.375" x 5.6875". I use mostly Justin racks, which are 8.25" x 2.75" x 1.75". So depending on the thickness of the existing foam, It may be possible to fit 3 rows of 6 racks into one of these. It's gonna be hella heavy, but it does have wheels.

@Ben8257 I think you have a lot of Apache cases. Do you use the 5800? What are your thoughts on using these with the foam that is supplied?

@GoJo_Dingo in the photos, there is a cutout in the foam at the very front of the case. Does this cutout go all the way to the bottom of the case, or does the foam resume at some point? Could you add a pic of this part of the interior?

Alright, I have added some photos after trying a few configurations; hopefully these photos are helpful, I mean that IS the purpose of this post and I thought the purpose of the forum, to be helpful? Some people just can not help themselves.

I do not have any "Justin" racks so I was not able to try any configuration that would put the racks on end. However, I can comfortably fit up-to 17 racks and at least 6 if not 8 decks of cards and still some room for dealer buttons, cash box and such.
And you know what? With the custom foam that is already in it I would not even suggest anyone use pluck-a-part replacement foam at all!
All that is needed is some good ol' regular foam cut to size to tuck into the areas where there are gaps.

One configuration I can fit 12 racks (1200 chips) 4 stacks of 3 high, there are more gaps obsessively but this will allow for more accessories such as decks of cards, buttons and such. I didn't try it but I may even be able to fit a few racks in the middle of the 4 stacks.

Another configuration allowed 17 racks (1700 chips) all down the middle, 5 stacks of 3 high and 2 racks on the side at the very end, obviously you would need the Justin racks to do so. And still room for at least 6 decks of cards and room for buttons also!
This case was so heavy with 1700 chips but like @TX_Golf_N_Poker said, it has wheels!

I hope this helps, I truly do, if I miss any questions or concerns please let me know.

I did not measure it but hopefully the photos will give you a better idea of the fit. There are two cutouts in the bottom, yes they do go all the way through to the case. There are also two cutouts in the side, (front and back) as well. I do not see this would impact anything negatively as the racks fit tight, this allows for storage of other items like cards and such it just needs some foam cut just right to wedge in there.

Impressive! You’re a walking multi-table tournament brother

Can you put the racks in, close it up, then move it around some, maybe up a few stairs, then open it back up and see what kind of protection the existing foam offers?
Cases are no good if they don’t protect your chips from movement.

Also, since you got these from a gun nut, be aware that there are gun forums where you can sell these too for the original purpose you stated he used them for, and they might just grab these up seeing how popular they are for pistol owners.
