I've run quads into a royal before, and can confirm that yes it does suck But to do so at the WSOP, yikes.

Well Kh wouldn't chop...it would go to maumman with the royal...but he was already leading with A high flush. Not as exciting to the other two in the hand

In our cash game a few months ago I rivered a Royal Flush to beat Quad Aces. Smallish pot though. Just over 100 bucks. Like you said. to do this at the WSOP..........oh shit.

Some of those other hands were bonkers but that takes the cake.

2 years ago, my buddy was in day 2 of the ME. Started the hand with 150k.

Has pocket AA.

Raises 20k preflop and gets 1 call (guy has roughly 95k)

Flop: 69A (rainbow)

Bets 40k and gets a call

Turn: K

Moves all in; call

My buddy turns over his AA.

Other guy turns over KK and says, "that's what I put you on."

River: K

I might be wrong, but I believe the odds of hitting runner runner with 2 outs are roughly .08% or .09%. It was a brutal hit.

But my buddy rallied back and finished day 2 with 188k
