This is somehow a real picture from the 2026 WSOP. The DEGENS have officially won.

I played that event last year! It was so much fun! Literally the most fun Ive ever had in a tournament. Doubled up on first hand, ran up a stack, busted, fired a second bullet, lost that, and still had fun. Nobody tanked. Action was fast. People were talkative. Like a cash game. I would have played again this year but they moved it back in the series so I couldn’t make it.

I may have dealt a hand that made it on stream last night. It wasn't a feature table, but during 300/600 blinds this camera man just started filming my table during my shuffle and I was thinking, this is weird because not much happens in these early rounds. But sure enough, AA got in against AK preflop. Seat 3 vs seat 5. Just wondering if I am famous!?!?

The guy who got AA loves you. AK not so much.

Random trivia question.

There have been 50 different WSOP Main Event winners. 33 of them were born in the USA.

What country has the second most players born there?

Note: The question is about birth country, not country they represented at the WSOP the year they won.

There have been a few Iranian champs I believe

Thought it would be harder.

Three Iranian born players have won the Main Event and none of them have done it representing them.

Mansour Matloubi won in 1990 representing Wales and was the first non-American to win.
Hamid Dastmalchi won in 1992 representing the USA.
Hossein Ensan won in 2019 representing Germany.

USA - 33
Iran - 3
Germany - 2
Vietnam - 2
Argentina - 1
Canada - 1
China - 1
Denmark - 1
Ecuador - 1
Ireland - 1
Laos - 1
Lebanon - 1
Norway - 1
Sweden - 1

Vietnam was my guess. Glad to see I was close.
