Greeting Chipmates!

I'm looking for a bit of Las Vegas history and the circumstances where this gaming token could have been used. Was there a common dollar honored by multiple casinos in the downtown area or something? Does anyone know the history or a good reference? All I can find are eBay descriptions, which does not provide much background.

Thanks!

That’s a cool looking token. Don’t have any specific knowledge about it, but since it stamped “ Las Vegas Jaycees”, i would assume it’s kind of like and advertising or promotional souvenir. Isnt Jaycees some sort of Business group like Rotory or Chamber of Commerce?

I think Jaycees is a leadership training organization for youngsters. Checkout https://formspal.com/usjaycees. United States Junior Chamber (or JC or JayCee). So, my guess is they sponsored a promotional dollar that was honored by several casinos. People could buy the tokens or get them as rewards. They could then use them at all participating casinos. Just a guess. Would love to know the full scoop. So far, unable to find a good page that describes the background on these tokens. I have a baker's dozen in my collection.
