The Breezeway - CPC Customs (Solids) (1 Viewer)

Include them in the sale of the house.

I checked with my realtor and she said they will increase the selling price much more than a swimming pool. Of course, she and her husband host a monthly game so she might be a little prejudiced. :D

Coincidentally, their last name is Breeze.

I like it (y)

I actually offered to leave my poker table setup in the last house we sold. New owners appreciated the offer but declined as they were planning on turning my poker room and home theater into an in-law suite.

Did you back out of the sale after hearing that?

I vote to leave the set as is!!

The inlay and mold work so well together. At least wait until you have a label you know you love and then get some samples printed and put on before making a final decision on replacing the inlay.

Right.

Don't remove the inlays just to do it. Btw patient.

Beautiful chips! Congratulations.

One of the best things on PCF is seeing the creativity of members. Here we see a nice inlay, a clever, personalized custom theme on the perfect mold to tie the mold to the theme, and a great selection of colors. (I love the look of solids, too.)

Awesome!

Will they buy them? Seems almost tailor made for them, and then you'll have essentially rented them for a bit before getting your next set...

I thought it would be perfect for them, but they said that they have enough chips. I'm not sure I understand that way of thinking.

I realize that this set has an actual house on it, but when I designed both of my CPC sets I went back and forth about including the city name for a while. Of course having it is casino authentic but it does have the risk of lock in. If I moved from suburban Cleveland to suburban Dallas would the name of my former Ohio city be meaningful? No, not really. On the other hand for the cash set where it's a tribute to the Cleveland skyline, I'll always consider Cleveland to be home so I rolled with it, sans suburb name.

Always lots of little details to think about!

I appreciate all the kind words again!

It's actually been kind of a rough year for me, and a large part of that was the move to this house and the repairs that have been needed there since moving in. The city holds a lot of significance for myself and my wife. The house... not so much right now. It's kind of the source of most of our headaches.

I don't want to look down at my expensive custom chip set and be reminded of this place that has caused a financial setback in my life.

This was supposed to be THE house, the one we raised our kids in and stayed in until retirement. That's why I was comfortable designing the chip around it. Unfortunately that doesn't look like it will be the case anymore.

I haven't done anything major yet (I did one chip I had an extra of to see how hard it'd be and how the label fits) but I really don't see myself keeping these inlays in.

Alright I guess I can accept that explanation. :D

They turned out great, Brett! I'm happy for you and the Mrs. that you've found a new place! These chips turned would raffle nicely! Outstanding solid colors and a great inlay!

asking price???

I would bet these fill out a raffle before the weekend is over.

It's a very strange thought to me that someone else would want this set with my house and city on it, based on how personalized it is to basically only me.

I hadn't thought much about price, mostly because I assumed there wouldn't be any interest due to the reason above. I do see myself wanting another custom set, and honestly it's nice that it would only cost be about 30c per chip (plus some shipping and design costs) to relabel these. If I went with another brand new CPC set it would most likely not be solids again unless I moved my other tourney set(s).

If I did decide to sell, I'd probably try to settle somewhere around a buck a chip. They were $1.28 a piece except for the T5k (Dayglo premium) plus a bunch of other things like shipping, credit card fee and design fee. I tend to price things relatively low to move them quickly when I sell things here.

I'm an extremely indecisive but also somehow instinctive person. I'll change my mind 117 times before the end of this sentence. I should probably listen to @detroitdad and be patient, but that has never been my strong suit.

My wife is still giving me a hard time for not putting our cats somewhere on this set...
