All,

I'm trying to contact @upNdown. I bought some chips from him last week and he sent me a tracking number, but the status still says Pre-Shipment. Hoping everything is OK. Just trying to get an update on the chips but he has been MIA since last Saturday. So if anyone knows how to contact him outside of the forum and can get me some info on what's going on, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Could be wrong but I think Rob played in one of the P* tourneys this week

I am also trying to get in touch with him as I purchased some chips from him over the weekend and have not heard anything back. Would appreciate it if anyone that gets in contact with him keeps me posted as well.

Thank you

I’ve purchased chips from him and he was great to deal with. I’m sure there’s a good explanation. Hope everything is ok.

Hope everything works out well for all involved.

I didn't want to throw any shade his way. I assume something IRL has come up.

I didn’t take it that way at all. I was just assuring you guys that there was most likely a good reason for the delay.

All the packages I owed folks shipped out yesterday and today. Sorry that it took two weeks. The bigger apology should be for going so long without communication. No excuse for that. Honestly I wasn’t in the mood to sign in and say “sorry, I didn’t get to you today, and I probably won’t get to you tomorrow either.”
My bad.
Carry on!

Take care man.

Appears he went missing again. He hasn’t been on since the 24th of October. Me and @Teggy placed an order for cards, and no response at all, however he has our money. Would really love an update. @upNdown

Have not seen not heard from him recently. But he did make good on our last transaction, albeit a bit delayed.

Wow, I hadn’t realized. Hope he’s ok too but it’s very strange that he suddenly stopped posting one day to the next

Every time I read these MIA threads I remember my days working at a UPS customer service counter. We had a package awaiting pick-up by one of our regulars. Months went by before we learned that he lost his life prematurely when he hit a moose with his jeep.

I really hope nothing like that has happened :(

Without ever meeting him in person, obviously, I could understand that the guy is (was?) very honest and polite.
Probably he saw chipping as just an addiction at some point of time, and ran.
Probably, he forgot to honor some of his trading obligations here, which is sad. I wouldn't bet that these, though, were of a significant magnitude; clearly NOT the kind of guy who would scam people over money.

Most of us escape that kind of fate and live out our natural lives, but there is no way of knowing what has happened to someone who suddenly disappears.

He had a public post on his Facebook page as recently as 1/23/2020, and appears to be alive and well.

Yeah I used to text him pretty regularly and then nothing. I've sent him a couple of texts over this past year too and nothing. I sent him another one just now so we'll just wait and see and I'll let you know if I hear anything.

This wouldn't be the first time addiction has forced a member to cut ties with the community. We recently lost a well-known member due to gambling issues.

If something similar is going on here, we won't ever hear anything. Recovery usually requires severing all ties to anything relating to the addiction.

There was a thread a while ago where people were discussing bringing underage people to home games. I was trying to argue caution as bringing young people into a gambling environment and having them later develop gambling issues would be a heavy weight to carry. I distinctly remember some members poo fooing me.

Gambling addiction is real. It is just like alcoholism, no one takes it seriously until you know someone (or are someone) that has to deal with it.

Absolutely so, though I guess most people here have spent (I won't say "lost":D) more money to chips than to playing poker.:cool

I have no problem admitting I lost $9.00 playing NLHE last weekend.

But I'd rather not discuss how much I've spent on chips. Perhaps that's considered "a problem." :x:unsure::whistle: :whistling:
I have spent on chips x50 my lifetime losses in poker, considering (for the sake of the hypothesis) that I was a loosing player (truth is I have been an almost break-even player, and, lately, a winning player, after having meticulously studied good old Dan Harrington's cash books). :D
