Hey all,

So I’m no where near the Harvester as some members in this forum. However, the Mrs. was out of town so I did a turn around trip to Vegas from SoCal. Got to Paris at 10:30 pm and hit both wheels for (25) chips a pop. Sat at the bar near the wheel and had a beer while I waited until the dealers switched and then I double tapped them again for (25) chips a piece.

Every time I’d give the dealer $29 so I’d get (29) $1’s, I’d play two spins for $2 a spin and pick up my chips and leave. Hit the craps table for some more chips and by the craps table when I seen someone waited in line at the cashier with $1’s I’d go ask them if I could buy their ones. Everyone I asked obliged. By 12:30 am I had (202) $1’s, most in really good condition and (1) near mint $5.

I then went to Red Rock where at the 2/4 limit poker table I was able to sort through 3+ racks of $1 chips to get the (27) that I harvested and (1) near mint $5 in about 2 hours. Man, Red Rock has the most BEAT UP $1’s I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t help that they’re RHC’s either. I then drove back home

Well just wanted to share as a thank you to all the much more productive and efficient harvesters in this forum that motivated me to go out and harvest myself. :)

Those Res Rocks are hot! It’s been years since I last visited so I haven’t seen these chips.

Next time, go to Circus Circus!

DAMN !!! Is this why you said next time go to Circus Circus?! I think I’m going to have to rearrange my whole harvested home tournament set around this one chip. Thankfully I haven’t finished yet and can still make the change. I may have to sell the two racks of Paris ones I just harvested now Lol. This chip is my new FAVORITE chip. S**t, thanks @allforcharity now I have to do another turn around trip to Vegas lmao.

Absolutely Beautiful. And they’re only about three weeks old.

AMAZING chips! Were they difficult to harvest?
Compared to other places yes, but not impossible. My dad and I harvested around 140 playing craps over two separate (allbeit quick) sessions. Dealers picked up on what was happening on the second session so we quit before hitting two racks. Getting a barrel of ones on a $120 buy-in was the easiest, then place bets of $10 on 5 and 9 paid $14 each hit. You'll need a good shooter, but it can add up quick.

I wasn't able to find @inca911 specific strategy at CC in the post he made - however we had no luck at the cage/roulette/blackjack for anything more than a single chip. Perhaps we had a stingy shift of employees (same crew during both of our sessions).
We hope to be back within a few weeks to get some more before they start getting worn.

@bradiggy the dealers wouldn’t ask you to drop a one so they could give you a 15$ payout on the place 5/9? Did you just immediately pocket your barrel of ones?

$10 min table full to the brim on a Saturday night - they were busy enough to just send $14 to everybody with min bets to save time and effort. I also put enough $1’s on the pass line for the dealers that I doubt they’d give me a hard time if I asked for exact payout every time, but they never asked for change.

Barrel and anything else goes 3-5 at a time into the beanie I take off and put on the drink rail. Or loose gym shorts with big pockets, I always wear both in case of a dream session. :whistling:

I might be in the minority with this opinion, but the gray $1 chip from Red Rock (Aliante used to also have a near identical $1 chip) is one of my favorite. While I love blue 1s from Paris and Flamingo and like white 1s like Ballys and NYNY, something about that gray $1 is so nice to look at when on the table

Dumb rookie question, but do casino’s frown upon harvesting? Like, would they stop you if they saw you walking out the door with a rack of white?

I would think that it is frowned upon. The dealer always wants you to “chip up” to larger denoms when leaving a table. I assume that this is the reason but I’m not 100%.

Is security going to tackle you - probably not. Absolute worst case scenario IMO is they would ask you to cash the chips in and have a nice day. I'd highly recommend being discreet about removing anything more than 5-10 chips.

If you want to piss them off, try taking a harvested rack while they are still in a Paulson chip tray/rack. That is just blatant theft and they probably won't tell you to have a nice day as you cash in the chips.

I love the Red Rock $1.....wish it was THC instead of RHC though.

well no, the dealers want you to chip up so they have lower denoms to continue to be able to make change. that said, a casino as a whole is probably not going to care much about losing a chip or two as souvenirs, but they certainly don't want people walking off with their property racks at a time.

If you ask the poker room cage for 500x $1 chips so you can sort through them for some nice souvenirs many poker rooms (especially in Vegas) will oblige. Some places won't want to help you but in my experience most poker rooms will at least tolerate the practice.

By the same token most BJ and table game dealers will oblige turning a $5 chip into 5 singles for you to take home. It is a service oriented environment after all so being a stickler to paying customers doesn't make much sense.

The places that do say "no" usually just require another visit when grump pants is no longer on shift.

You sir are a Chip Harvesting Extraordinaire and I will definitely try your suggestions. Thank you very much
