Nice haul! I haven't been back to Vegas in a while, but had minimal issue getting ~$10 in singles from half a dozen places directly from the cage. Fracs are impossible in my experience.

Seriously, you’ve been able to buy $500 worth of ones and sit somewhere and sort in Vegas?

If you ask the poker room cage for 500x $1 chips so you can sort through them for some nice souvenirs many poker rooms (especially in Vegas) will oblige. Some places won't want to help you but in my experience most poker rooms will at least tolerate the practice.

By the same token most BJ and table game dealers will oblige turning a $5 chip into 5 singles for you to take home. It is a service oriented environment after all so being a stickler to paying customers doesn't make much sense.

The places that do say "no" usually just require another visit when grump pants is no longer on shift.

I’ve always been really nervous about harvesting chips. I’ve only ever harvested singles.
