Boat chips... some chippers got a couple orders (Empress Star/Aurora Star) through GPI under the guise of operating a casino cruise line.

Big Top Poker / Truman’s House / et al... some chippers got personal sets made through GPI using a real casino contact, and telling Paulson the chips were a gift for some “VIP guests.”

Hahaha, delightfully sketch. I assume the jig is up at this point and GPI is wise to these shenanigans now?

Not exactly. Actual premise was a company that offered running casino operations for other cruise line companies. The corporation owned no ships.

If you could do it all again what would you change?
PS. Just bored on a Friday at work.

And, immediatelly, sell the casino at cost for rebranding, with the aim of providing the old (still mint) chips to the Community. At cost.:D
That's what I 'd do, at least.:)

If I had the money and opportunity to open a legal casino, I would hire the right people to run it and let the money roll in. A legal casino in Orlando would be a gold mine.

Then I'd order chips from GPI for my VIP guests for years to come.

If I had the money to buy a casino, I would just do what I wrote above I would.
I 'd be way too lazy to make any more money. I 'd just be interested in having a good time playing home poker within the Community, presuming such a thing existed. :)

Central Florida casino? 20 million in profits every year, 21 million in sunken costs cleaning up after meth heads.

My solution: I'll purchase a shack several blocks down the road and give away free meth.

What could possibly go wrong?

And then the B-52s write a song called Meth Shack and you rake in the casino profits and song royalties.

Foresight. This is why you run a successful casino and I just make snarky comments on internet forums

Due to their clandestine nature, these projects were not public group buys.

Brilliantly concise explanation. Should be bookmarked to be shared with future members who ask the same question.

Yes.

GPI is well aware.

The "boat chips" were "outed" to GPI and Caesar's by some other chippers with a grudge. I'm not going to get into the details and start the fighting again, but you can probably figure out what happened. As for the BTP / personal set chips, it's my understanding GPI is aware of what happened there as well. But not because of chipper infighting.

Keep in mind, there are a couple GPI employees who check this forum from time to time. They know about our little community, and they are not completely blind to our desire for their product, and the antics we pull to get them. :)

with posts like these, It does seem like you are looking to start the fighting again by leaving out any detail that doesnt fit your narrative.

I believe the "chipper with a grudge" was more of an Industry journalist with probably more friends at Caesars than PCF, and the only chips he outed were the WSOP replicas. He actually wrote a post explaining his actions either here or Chipdonkey if people were interested in hearing his point of view. I am not sure if it survived though.

I’m actually not referring to him at all, but those who made direct contact to GPI long before Caesar’s was contacted.

If you don’t know the details of what transpired, you should probably just shut the hell up. Because you’re exposing yourself to be completely ignorant of the facts.

But go ahead... please... keep talking.

You don't need to be so hostile. My information is just very different than yours, so Im questioning the facts.

I hear it said time and time again that certain people who were carrying a grudge went to GPI and shut down the boat buys. Besides Snoop, I have never heard anyone admit to this and have never seen any evidence of the fact. From what I can tell, One member made a very stupid threat about exposing the Boat buys to GPI, and the organizers perceived enough risk that they cancelled a large Paulson buy that was in the works, and instead proceeded with another much smaller buy for the Pacific Star Bud Jones chips. I have never heard anyone say that GPI actually shut down the orders or sent any kind of cease and desist.

If anyone can send me any evidence to support your version of events, either openly or via PM, Id be happy to change my tune and support your narrative. Otherwise, Im sick of the trend in our country to accept any story as fact, just because some dimwit is willing to say it out loud.

Your bias is evident in your post, and that's fine. You are already trying to dismiss the threat as "stupid." I guess we're all just supposed to take it as some comedy between "friends." And yet the only alternative you'll accept is a "cease and desist" order, which no one ever mentioned - anywhere (not really sure where that came from actually). It's ironic that you're so sick of people in this country selling any story as fact, when you're guilty of twisting your own story to satisfy your ends.

But it seems there are some facts we do not dispute:

Fact: some one sent a PM discussing outside contact to GPI about the boat buys, while the transaction was in progress.
Fact: same said person suggested (in the same PM) "canceling" the order so friends and acquaintances of theirs involved would not "lose money."
Fact: screengrabs of this PM exist, but it's not my place to post it. And it sounds like you've already seen it yourself.

When any such threat or email is received, it can only be taken at face value, which means it has to be taken as fact. The repercussions of that PM cannot be ignored, and I refuse to pass it off as "stupid," "silly," or just some "chip-bro" humor. It had malicious intent, with only a single malicious goal in mind.

Sure, anyone can come back 18 months later and say, "oh, about that PM, it was just a joke bro! lol-lery!"

I don't know about you, but I don't go around pretending to mess around with my friends' quarter-million dollar deals. Maybe you do. Maybe that's just "chipper-bro" lulz for you. If so, we'll just have to agree to disagree, because that's not how I treat friends, or anyone in this community.

Carry on with your "fact" peddling.
