Fugly Poker Table Thread (19 Viewers)

I agree! It is not conventional and doesn't look great, but isn't fugly. I like it! I like squared off dining tables and this would be great in the kitchen with a hard topper. Those craps chips troughs are really neat.

Wow. The sad part about it is that this takes some skill to make. But the aesthetics are awful and it's not even functional.

I 'd still play on it, under the right circumstances: rural setting, pick-up trucks parked outside in the bitter cold, fireplace thundering, with the smell of roasted lamb filling the room and ice-cold raki (crystal clear brandy) filliing the glasses, with some smoked cheese, before dinner is served and red wine takes over.
Dice chips, labeled though:LOL: , should be the necessary complement.
Doesn't matter if you're way ahead or way behind:D

Do not look if you are OCD...

Great googly-moogly, we have a new contender for the worst table!
  • Hard surface, because lifting cards is overrated - check
  • says "poker", in case you forgot what you were doing - check
  • cards painted on table to remind you what cards are - check
  • Unnecessary item painted in the middle - check
  • Recessed chip trays to hide chips from opponents - check
  • Hard crack in surface to make sliding chips/cards near impossible - check
  • Unable to slide chips in without picking them up - check
  • Shallow cupholders - check
  • Some painted suits facing inward, and others outward - that's some bonus effort!
Please tell me the price on this was over $300!

I'm amazed more people didn't play Tripoley growing up and don't recognize these tables. I thought it was pretty common in the Midwest. My friend's family had a felt mat with the different sections on it. I like the painted cat for the Kitty in the middle.
