After studying-up on methods used by other members, I’m giving it a try myself. Pretty slow at first but after a bit of trial and error, figuring out some tricks the speed up the process.

Here’s a couple of photos of the first dozen:

Notice anything unusual? Let’s take a closer look:

Lol. Who’s the joker that did this?

@Gear you ever see some funny surprises like this?

Anyways, this is a lot of work but I think the end result will be very rewarding.

Cheers

U mean u removed a label and that was there?

How well was the inlay on there? Could it have come off and someone glued it back on (leaving the artwork behind)?

Those are actual inlays, not stickers, right? I don’t exactly know the process, but my understanding is that the inlays are pressed with the soft clay. How would they draw on it?

Slugs are relatively hard prior to being subjected to high heat and temperature during the pressing process. Certainly stable enough to be drawn on with a Sharpie.

I’m not actually sure of the correct terminology. These are laminated so First I remove the plastic, then the sticker.

That's funny!

I think you'll find it even faster if you don't draw and quarter your chips with the initial cut. Try taking out just a little pie slice first. Then the rest of your plastic laminate layer should come out (much of the time) in one big piece. Where's your pliers?

Oh, and whatcha drinkin'?

You are absolutely right. I figured that out after the first half dozen. I have tweezers but find the dental pick is working best for getting under the label and distributing the remover.

Oh, and I was drinking a new scotch! Very nice.

Ah, you probably mean pliers for the laminate... been just using my fingers but maybe I should give that a try.

Speeds things up and gives your fingers a break.

Need to try that scotch, get it from the liquor store?

Actually got from it from the duty free in US. Not sure if they are selling it up here or not?

Up here in New England we kinda have to drink IPAs.... never seen this IPA scotch though, is it worth trying?

I had to look at this post with children present. Now I have to have a talk....
