I bought a set of the Radisson Sunfly ceramics that were available recently - mainly because the price was attractive and I love the look. After a trade with a fellow chipper, I will have the following counts:

T500 x 200
T1000 x 600
T5000 x 600

I want to use these chips in my next home game, tournament style. Max 10 players with max 10 rebuys. I'm thinking T125k starting stack of 10/20/20 since it's a nice round number. Blinds as follows every 15 mins for a 4 hour game (excl breaks):

T500/T1000
T1000/T2000
T1500/T3000
T2000/T4000
T2500/T5000
T3000/T6000
T3500/T7000
T4000/T8000
T5000/T10000
T7500/T15000
T10000/T20000 <- remove 500 & 1000
T15000/T30000
T20000/T40000
T25000/T50000
T30000/T60000
T40000/T80000
T50000/T100000

Will this work? To slow the game down a little, maybe the first two blind levels can be 30mins.

I'm thinking it'll be fun to have a lot of chips on the table but is this going to get silly/unplayable towards the end? Blinds needing stacks of chips and bets needing racks!

Your blind structure is bumpy. Your increases crawl from levels 5-8, then explode from 9-12, then crawl again.
Some people like it to start out fast, some people like it to end fast, but I’m not sure who wants it to speed up like that in the middle.

Also my opinion is that you’ve got too many chips on that table. If you actually have ten rebuys, even with the color-ups, you’re gonna have something like 5-6 racks of T5,000’s on the table, unless you have a bigger chip you haven’t mentioned. I think that’s way too many, when it gets down to 4, 3, 2 players.

You could add a 6000-12000 level and maybe a 12000-25000 to smoothen the middle.
I 'm sure some folks would also add a 500-1500 to avoid doubling up the BB even in the earliest phase.
Length of levels is no substitute for smoothness in BB increase, IMHO.

Fixing the blinds is easy - I'll do whatever you guys suggest.

A higher denom is harder. The only way would be to custom make some 25k or 100k chips/plaques but to match the chips it would have to have Radisson on it which comes with copyright problems etc.

First off, pics or it didn't happen.

Secondly, using the 20bb rule the tournament would likely end when the bb gets to 125k if you get 20 entries. So if four hours is your target, you may need to tighten the tournament a bit. I humbly suggest

500-1000
500-1500
1000-2000
1500-3000 (remove 500)
2-4k
3-6k
4-8k
6-12k
8-16k (remove 1k)
10-20k
15-30k
20-40k
30-60k
40-80k
60-120k (estimated end, level 15 3:30-3:45 elapsed plus breaks.)

Going to 16-17 min levels would get you very close to the 4 hour target too.

I tend to like my progressions based on 2-4 chips, 3-6, 4-8, 6-12, 8-16.

This is what arrived in the mail but I've traded some. About 700 are still in the wrappers.

Try the blinds we use for my SHR format:

L1 500 1000
L2 500 1500
L3 1000 2000
L4 1500 3000
L5 2000 4000
L6 3000 6000
L7 4000 8000
L8 6000 12000
L9 8000 16000
L10 12000 24000
L11 16000 32000
L12 20000 40000
L13 25000 50000
L14 30000 60000
L15 40000 80000
L16 50000 100000
L17 60000 120000
L18 80000 160000
L19 100000 200000

The blinds never go up more than 50% at any level.

With 125 BB's in your stacks you should end around L13-15 given the above.

20-minute levels L1-L10, 15-minute levels L11-completion

Tournament should end no later than L13, or around 4 hours plus breaks. 41% average blind increase, with nearly all 33% or 50%. 200 total chips in play at tournament end with no re-buys; approximately 240-260 chips in play with an typical re-buy rate. Adding a barrel or two of T25K chips (or plaques) would be highly beneficial.

Not exactly on the original topic, but the more I think about it the more I love the multi table potential of this breakdown.

For 30 players 100k 6*500/17*1000/16*5000. 12+ add-ons available, more if you happen to get 25k chips/plaques as @BGinGA suggested.

How does the 500/500 and 500/1000 transition is 50%? Is it the cost per round that's 50%? And if no one raised during 500/500 level, when does the preflop betting round over?

Yes, it is the increase in total blinds, not just the bb.

The big blind is always last to act pre-flop, unless there is a raise prior to his action. The blind amounts do not change that.

If the sb checks his 500 blind, the bb still has an option to check or raise.

Thanks for all the info I need. (y)

Thanks @BGinGA - I was quietly hoping you would respond and your input is perfect as always.

@JustinInMN, I didn't think of that - it's cool that I can run multiple tables with this lot.
