It saddens me to shut down this club. 4,000 chips now decorate my living room, and I'd like to gauge interest here in selling them. I hand oiled every single chip upon purchase. Only 10% of the chips were touched.

Throne Poker (Throne Social Club) was a legal poker room in Austin, TX. There is a loophole in Texas penal code that allows for gambling: if it's done in a private place, if the game is fair (like poker and not like blackjack), and if no one is receiving economic benefit outside of personal winnings. The last one is the greyest and the trickiest. Regardless, I consulted lawyers, and followed the model Texas Card House (first legal room) laid out.

Sadly, Throne Poker was super short lived due to my mistakes as a business owner. I made poor agreements with my business partner and we were under capitalized. It ran from March 2017 to July 2017. My emphasis was on hospitality and creating a fun and safe atmosphere.

I can go into more details if you'd like -- and may even be able to find some photos.
