Unless you are buying customs or overpriced mass produced plastic crap, chips keep their value pretty well. It is more like paying full value deposit for a rental, then when you are done, the next person does the same.

My apartment, clothes, and most of my belongings might be crap, but when I lose all my money in a home game, I want to lose using the best equipment possible.
