Crazy slow roll (1 Viewer)

If he wasn't such a bad player and kept giving action, they would not tolerate his antics one bit. The guy with eights full sure took it well, guess it helped that Kassouf was short stacked at the time so the hand isn't too damaging.

That, and the fact that he said he had quads the second he flipped them?
In another session at the bike, Helmuth said Kassouf has one of the top 15 speech games in the world. I don't know if he really meant it, or if it's just table talk. But I'm pretty sure we can't judge his game based on the limited amount of footage we've seen in the past year.

As a player, I wouldn't want to sit at his table, both because he'd be annoying as hell and because I'm sure all that talk would knock me off my game. But as I viewer, I'll watch him whenever I can because he's amusibgbin a "love to hate" kind of way and because I think I can learn by watching.

I'm not a fan of slowrolling; I think it's despicable 95% of the time (there are some good-natures back and forth home game exceptions. But I'm not sure if it even qualifies as a slow roll when the guy is announcing his intentions to slow roll you for like 5 minutes.

Just more proof that he is the biggest a$$hole in poker. It would be less than a minute from when I sat down to where i would uncontrollable blurt out "shut the f up and play!". Of course he won't so I move to another table.
This.

Anyone who knows me or has played with me quickly finds out I'm polite, almost always the quietest player at the table and can take plenty of shit without it phasing me. Only twice in my life have I been so annoyed by anyone at the table that I couldn't help but to comment or leave the game entirely.

First time was in a tournament at PH where it took the better part of 45 minutes of a jackass never once even stopping to take a breath at a table where no one acknowledged a single thing he said before finally throwing a flippant comment in his direction which turned into a heated three minute back and forth that I'm not particularly proud of at which point he was moved to another table. Second one was actually the last night of a meetup where a jackass local I'd been stuck with pretty much all day through tourney and cash finally pushed me over the edge... that time simply leaving early at 10pm without a word about it seemed like the best play.

But this guy, holy shit. I'd be calling for an immediate table change and still wouldn't be able to resist telling him to shut the fuck up.

And for whatever it's worth, kassouf got slowrolled on this one and was a good sport about it.

If I was at the table with him, the moment he opened his mouth, I'd call clock.
Two problems with this. First, if you immediately call clock they won't enforce it. Second, once he knows without question that he's gotten to you he will likely start delaying every move, including preflop folds, just to further get under your skin.

"I'll show him" moves often bite you in the ass :D

Watch the second video and look at the guy he slowrolled from the first video... He's not in the hand and he just has to sit there and let this play out. Kassouf's talk game just grinds the hands per hour to almost a halt.

I'd give him some latitude, but as soon as he tried his talk game, whether I am in the hand or not, I'd call clock.

To this day that guy is still the biggest dick I've ever played cards with.

Except Wayne totally botched that slow roll and turned it into a kinda sorta slow roll. If Wayne followed up with holding his cards over the muck and telling the dealer to push the pot to kassouf, followed with "nice hand, again" kinda speech it would have been epic.

I like slow rolls. But trying to balance that versus getting beaten up is tricky

I'll normally ask if everyone is ok with them. Specially playing circus games. In NLHE. Seems no one likes a slow roll

People say Kasoufs game is good for poker.

I personally can't stand it. I think it takes away any enjoyment I might have while sitting there playing.

Watching him , Helmuth, and Matasow. The other night @ LATB. I can't believe Phil actually came off as the decent, un-annoying one. ( except when he layed into Andy for trying to cash $500 chips with him based on Matasows word)

I liked in the WSOP. Where the othe Brit the fish and chip shop owner said. "Oh shut up and give it a rest Will ". And he did.

I witnessed a better, well, a nutter butter, slow roll at my Saturday game between @jbutler and @H|Q. lol. I guess they're still friends.

People will use this to defend him but in my opinion it makes him even worse. The game seems friendly and the guy getting slowrolled originally didn't mind that much so the slowroll here isn't that much of a big deal among friends and there is a dish it out and take it attitude. But he acts in other situations like an obnoxious frat boy who can always make his moron friends laugh but doesn't understand why those strangers at a party don't enjoy his boner jokes and clearly they don't have a sense of humor and must be uptight.

If he was just a jackass to gain a competitive edge by putting opponents on tilt that would be one thing but as a fan of comedy there is nothing worse than a shithead who thinks they are way funnier than they are and you can tell by watching this dumb dumb that he thinks he is soooooo funny.

Heyyyy, was this at DCS? PM me a name if so. Unless it's me. :p

No, first Madison meet up. One of Trihonda's buddies. Unfortunately, this guy is all too representative of the poker scene in the area. Filled with complete douches. Sure, there are some nice guys. But not enough to make it worth my while to attend all but one or two home games.

I don't understand the depth of the hostility toward Kassouf. Yeah he's obnoxious and annoying, but that doesn't exactly make him unique amount poker players.
And if Helmuth and Matusow are capable of sitting at the table and playing civilly with him, what makes so many people here think they couldn't handle it?
Is it possible we've just seen highlights of the worst of the worst, and that he's actually unobtrusive the majority of the time?

I agree with this. I'm fine with his antics in this hand, in this cash game, it's humorous. And after Kassouf gets raised, he insta-says he's slow rolling.

I recall hearing on the 2+2 Pokercast podcast in the past few weeks, that somebody who called in or emailed thought Kassouf really couldn't be that bad as they made him out to be on TV, until he actually ended up being seated at the same table at a tournament, and that changed his mind.

It was really the delays that he caused in his tanking/talking act on every street that were the biggest issue that players had with him, not just his words and "speechplay" themselves. Especially in spots where he had hands that were insta-folds.

Wasting 3 or 4 minutes in a cash game for a slow roll in a cooler spot, I can tolerate and even find amusing. Wasting time over and over again in a tournament is just poor form.

He's like Jamie Gold, tells the truth mostly and no one believes him, but can he be the best bluffer in the world?
