Hey @justsomedude, I noticed a void area a few inches wide in the 'middle' layer of boxes (I marked up a screenshot with Windows Snipping Tool below).

A couple questions/thoughts:
Do you think it might help to put something in the void area (to protect the edge of the middle boxes / to keep the middle layer from shifting around), like a few pages of crumpled newspaper. If you don't think it's a problem, I'll trust your judgement. I totally understand it would be a pain to open up all the boxes if it wasn't necessary.
Maybe send the first few deliveries to some of the closer addresses, to get some quick feedback on how the shipping/packing held up. If those shipments make it there no problem, then there'll be no problem.

Dice chips! Dice chips! FILL THE VOID WITH DICE CHIPS!!!!!!!!

OK with
I'm okay with shipping my 200 as demonstrated in the video. Thank you for all the effort you've put into this project.

I couldn't have said it better. Yes please and thank you!

I'm good with them going out in factory packaging. I'd think they've done it long enough to know what works.

If by some chance I lose 1 or 2 because they got damaged in shipping, I'll still have about 180 boxes that I'm really not sure what I'll do with.

Looks good to me. I'll take as is with tape job. Thanks again for doing this!

Any updates on where we are with this? Can I assume I'll get a PM at some point letting me know how much to send for shipping?

Ok,

Finally looked in the thread so disregard my pm.

Shipping in original box is fine with extra tape. If you can fill that void in box I would be happy with that.
Thanks
My Best Jeff

Hey everyone - I know people are getting frustrated with the delays, and rightfully so. The angry PMs are mounting, and I understand where everyone is coming from.

I'm not going to bother with excuses, because I would not want to hear them either.

I will say this:

I am here.
I am not disappearing with anyone's boxes.
I have blocked 9/1-9/3 to complete shipping. ALL of it.

No more apologies from me - no excuses - I will get it done in that time frame.

That is all.

Seriously man, this is a huge undertaking and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we are tremendously grateful of your efforts.

PS: I am fronting all shipping costs at this time, and will settle up with folks later. The shipping cost aspect has become a chick/egg dilemma that has been at the root of my procrastination on this. Time to say "fuck it" - get everything shipped - and settle up later. You guys trusted me to get the order done. Time for me to man up - get shit shipped - and return the trust on the back end.

Thanks for all you are doing for this GB, JSDude. Much appreciated, and no timeline stresses here.

Thank you!

Of course that's the diplomatic thing to say. But since I'm just a "customer", to the angry PMers I say F off. It's a box of cardboard boxes worth less than two hundred bucks for most. We willingly give CPC thousands of dollars in advance for chips that will get made. Sometime. Maybe this year even.

Andrew's got a solid reputation here and frankly this is the most audacious group buy I've ever seen. He has gone above and beyond at every step of the way but hopefully this experience doesn't discourage him from organizing future GBs because honestly he's really good at it.

Angry PMers do have a point. It's not as if there are thousands of boxes involved and he is doing this free of charge for the group and has spent lots of time making this happen. :p

Enjoy the Labor Day weekend and ship them boxes when all kids are back in school.

By the way, do the angry PMers look like this?

C'mon folks! If angry pm's are being sent all I can say is STOP!!! Andrew went out of his way to get this GB done. Compare this time frame to the time frame in other GB's. Waiting a little while longer is not going to kill us. Running large GB's is a bunch of work, shoot, even smaller GB's is a lot of work. The amount of time spent on creation, ordering and receiving is enormous and then comes the reshipping. This is a ton of work,

These boxes were ordered and produced right at a month ago. How many GB's have we paid much more than a couple hundred dollars on and waited longer than a month, and that's okay? Give him a break. Andrew does have a professional life as well, so you will get your boxes when he is able to get them shipped

(gets off of soapbox and drops mic)

Keep chipping!

Not sure why I like those chips, but I do lol

Thanks everyone for your notes. It is very sincerely appreciated, and I cannot even come close to conveying how much your patience and understanding means to me.

Thank you!!

I'm in no rush. I did want to host a game this weekend and hand out a nice new box of chips , as a starting stack, not sure why anyone would be upset , they are just a bunch of empty boxes, thanks for doing this. Not like you have a full life of other shit going on. ;)

I've never used that stuff, but crumpled packing paper (the brown stuff, comes in rolls) is great for filling space when packing.
