No work done on it. It had a single owner who kept it in a humidity and temperature controlled listening room and I went over it with a tech and still looks incredible.

I like the finicky part of vintage stuff. For me things aren’t just their use but the projects and work that go into taking care of them and making em work.

These are 2ci, really love em.

Pretty damn happy with my setup. Sounds great, looks great, cool vintage factor. Moving in August and I’ll need to setup in a new space so won’t be changing any more for now. New house won’t have a great listening space which I’m very sad about but it’s worth it for other things we’re getting.

Even though the man cave is still months (or more?) away, I do have an office where I spend a lot of time. So I decided to go ahead and buy my first real amp now, so I can at least listen to better quality streaming. I decided on a 2005 era Marantz model PM-15S1. This thing is a beast, weighing in at over 40 pounds due to the huge power supply and transformer, large capacitors and heat sink. As a source for high quality digital input I bought a Wiim Pro Plus.

Obviously, presentation is not the strong point here. LOL. Making due with the space I have now so I can temporarily use this. I had a decent pair of PSB Alphas from the 90s tucked away, and the system really sings for now. Next I'll be auditioning speakers. And focusing on the man cave build out. Then I'll add a turntable and pull all my old vinyl out of storage. I'll probably commision @alecnetwoodworks to build me a custom audio shelf unit. Gonna be a fun time. Oh, and I already have the bug to upgrade the amp down the road. I'm drooling over various listings for Luxman amps from Japa

When I upgraded my Home Theater setup in the Basement in 2018 I got a 9.2 Marantz SR6012 Atmos HTR to replace my Yamaha 7.2 HTR. I still had a serviceable Yamaha receiver so I was figuring out what to do with it. Then one year I decided to move it into my home office for a 2 Channel setup to listen to music. I already had the Onkyo 7030 CD Player and my friend who moved to Israel over 10 years ago was going to toss the Denon 3 Head tape deck and he just gave it to me. I figured one day I would use the tape deck It was high end when he got it and still works great after some minor adjustments. The speakers in the pictures were old surround speakers were temporary as I now have Polk speakers and a Polk Subwoofer. The Polks are still nothing great, but better than those in the picture. I got the Pro-Ject turntable as a birthday present to myself in 2022 when I was putting this together as I wanted to listen to Vinyl. One day I'll update the receiver to a proper two Channel receiver and more higher end speakers and sub, but for now this works great for me and is fine.

BTW I get Stereophile Magazine now and drool over the high end equipment they review in there. My friend Norm from church just retired in early April from his job and as present to himself got a Luxman receiver and he said he really enjoys it. I am not sure what speakers he has on them, but I know he is running a Technics Turntable.

We have a newish Tim Hortons in our area also. Here is the coolest part of the store the Hockey Door Handles. Pretty close to @Irish 's house when you are here for the meetup.

Lol…just using it as a scale. It has a USB but I figured it was old tech. I wanted something that I could weigh heavier packages with, and this handles up to 25 pounds and is pretty cheap from the post office. Been checking accuracy and it is good. I use Pirate Ship anyway, so just need the weight. I wish it had an illuminated screen, but it does have a hold for the weight so even that’s not a big deal to see with a bigger package.
 
I have two, and they are both golf related.

Been itching to replace my 20 year old putter. I'm a mallet guy, but a few months ago I bought a used Scotty blade to give it a try. I never was able to adjust to it. My putting swing just fits a mallet better. I had tried a Scotty Phantom 7 at a store recently and liked it, but looking at other models, I thought I might like the Phantom 9R better. Then this morning I was reading a review article on mygolfspy.com where the top mallet in their 2026 testing was a Bettinardi. So I decided to go test them both out this afternoon. SURPRISE! I didn't buy either one. I ended up loving the Mizuno Tokyo. And it doesn't hurt that I already game Mizuno irons.

Then earlier this week, I used some gift cards I accumulated from placing in a few tournaments to get a new club logo bag from the club where I play most of the time.

All it took for me to start playing again was... Retiring!!! Played 136 rounds since April 2025. Before that, I was lucky to play 6-8 rounds a year. And less than that when the kids were growing up.
 
Yeah, I’m looking at about 4 more years to retire my friend. Several buddies been trying to
get me playing again. I don’t know if I’ll make 136 rounds in a year 😂. That’s awesome

Very nice!

I wound up changing out everything in my bag except for my driver last month. Mizuno irons and switched from a Scottie to a Spider.

Use mine at least twice per week. Bbq= great taste and easy clean up. Weber grills are a workhorse. I’ve owned several!

Which Mizunos did you go with?

I had wanted forever to get a set of forged Mizunos, but the JPX25s have been a game changer for me. I thought I would get player's distance irons, and hit quite a few of them during my testing phase. Or should I say "tried to hit them." Probably age and loss of swing speed, but I just couldn't make them work for me, so switched to trying the GI clubs. I don't care about working the ball, so these babies are exactly what I needed.
