I'm wondering if any famous people are really into the game. I've heard Jennifer Tilly, Michael Phelps and Ben Affleck play but who else? And have any of you ever played against a famous person?

I’m not friends with him or anything, but Abe Froman plays in our local $1/$1 game.

He has a house up here he visits during the summer, but winters he stays in Chicago.

Jamie Gold's mom lived down the street from me, we often played in each other's homes and the local tournaments ... And Jamie ( 2006 WSOP winner for those who were 2yrs old at the time ), would play when he came to visit his mom..

Played with Nelly several times in St Louis.

He would show up with as a small group of 2 or 3 people. He's not terrible but splashy. They would build a 2-5 game around him showing up to the poker room.

Sat several times in Vegas tournaments with James Woods and misc. "Poker famous" players.

I never told anybody this but I once played with Johnny Chan. I had barely enough to get into the game but I sat down and played tight for about an hour. Folding a ton but then I finally made a move. I had nothing but Chan raised and I decided I didn't care about the money. I decided I was just going to out play the guy this hand so I re-raise. Then he comes back over the top over at me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for only like two seconds and then re-raise him again. He makes a move to his chips and then looks at me, checks his cards and looks at me again and then mucked it. I took it down.

Chang asked me, "did you have it?"
I said, "I'm sorry John, I don't remember"

I got up and walked out with the best feeling in the world, I had won.

I still can't believe this is the first time I am sharing this.
