Got a 3 pack of the Pledge. First puff I was very excited, but I think I smoked it too soon. Letting the other two rest. It's definitely darker, drier, firmer, than rich like the no.9 or judge. Heavy, but not indulgent. More cocoa and oak than chocolate and cedar... If that helps you know when you want to reach for it.Never had any myself but bought this the other day after hearing great things; letting them sit for a bit. Expecting to like Pledge the best... if they end up being a favorite I’ll you know for next DiD

Thank you. I've definitely taken to letting my darker sticks rest for longer, minimum three weeks, and these certainly won't be the exception. Learned the hard way from one or two.
While here, Oliva I had after hockey this weekend. Tasty, but as a maduro guy (typically), I'm finding myself preferring the alternative wrappers on the Serie V sticks so far.

I bought a Govee based on this thread. As I live in Norway, they cost $45 here(!). Anyways, plopped it into my humidor where I have a cheap (manual) chinese hygrometer. My cheap one shows 70% while Govee says 49.4%. Now I don't know what to think.
I have 69% Boveda packs in it so I suspect I just bought a very inconvenient $45 thermometer...

Ha! We have a very similar palate. I wanted to like those melanio maduro, too, and yet prefer the original serie v melanio... to be fair I only had the robusto and prefer thicker larger smokes. Now when I get my humidor down to a manageable size I might have to try some of those perdomos. And yeah. I was trying to figure out when I had it... maybe 3 weeks of rest I was excited to try it. Going to let the others sit for at least a couple more months I'm not in a rush. Cigarpage has a solid deal on them under build your own bundle.Thank you. Put both and the boveda in a zip lock bag for 24 hours and see what each reads. Should be +/- 2% of the 69% bag
Definitely give it time, like @CraigT78 says. Going fancy was a waste of money for me, but hope your experience is different. A lot of people get good results.

Yeah, I did a big thing out of it, eventually.
I had a thin zipbag that you get from the airport so I'm not sure it's good enough. After 24 hrs. Govee showed 66.6%, my chinese manual thing showed 85% or something. My cheap digital one ($1 aliexpress thing) showed 61%. It was pretty clear that I had been storing my cigars in 50-55% RH...
I emptied out the humidor and got a spray bottle and hosed the inner wood for the first time since I got it (used) and the wood dried up in minutes.
Did another one and checked an hour later and it was completely dry. However I noticed that the lid was now tough to open, like I had to use two hands and you have to push it down for it to close so that wood was dry af previously. Did a third run and went to bed. Next morning I did the 4th run (!) and this time it wasn't completely dry after 2 hours. I plunked in 3 Boveda packs, "recalibrated" the chinese manual thing and dropped the Govee in as well. Gonna let it stay like that for 24 hours to verify, but I'm pretty sure I'm good to go and the humidor should be proper sealed now. The Govee has only been in there for a couple of minutes and it shows 68.8%.

Yeah, I don't know if I have the patience for that, spring is finally here.
I have less than 30 but I'm guessing they're already thirsty so it's going to take a dive no matter where they start.
It jumped up to just over 75% inside the humidor pretty quickly (without sticks) and it's down to 74% now so the Bovedas are already working overtime. I think the sticks will soak up more than the excess and suck on those Bovedas for a while to get back to normal.
Edit: I should also mention that my sticks are currently old, dry cigar boxes now. They have a boveda in there, but I'm guessing the wood in the boxes will suck out some moisture from the cigars as well as the bovedas.

I'm a fan of them. No subscription needed, just pair them with the govee app (which I already had for my TV backlight systems) and they are good to go. Love that I don't have to open my boxes and tupperdors and am still able to keep on top of temp and rh remotely, even in my office which is a few hundred feet away. They've been reading perfect right out of the box without any kind of calibration and have definitely been one of the best accessories I have bought so far.
