Sitting Out
When buying chips off this site, how safe is it? How can we ensure we don’t get scammed? How can I tell if a seller is legit?
For sure! Beware the vultures/poachers. They see new blood and try to sell you something at a super high price. I remember when I first started getting active again and I would get pings from people to see if I wanted to buy their set. The prices they quoted me were higher than what the ended up eventually listing them for.Also some people will reach out to try to unload their stuff at higher than current prices. This is because they know if they do it publicly they will be called out. So if someone offers you something it wouldn’t be a bad idea to ask publicly what the fair/current value of that item is.
I would listen to this guy EXCEPT when:Well, definitely don’t buy from anyone that sells paper.
People you want to buy from have been here for a while they post frequently and they care about the community. They wouldn’t have built a good name and let it be diminished by money or agreed.
Most of the members that post frequently have met each other or have met plenty of people that know them. We also plan to see each other again. I don’t wanna say it’s fight club but the first rule of fight club is you don’t talk about fight club
Tip #1: Avoid guys named Poppin fromSwedenthe Netherlands
This is why you PayPal the meetup hosts to buy all ingredients for 5 gallons each of palomas and margaritas and large anvils ahead of time all in one fell swoop.Here are my rules for chip purchases;
- If I met them at a meetup, they’re probably trustworthy
- If not, I can just drop a large anvil on their heads at the next meetup (1)
- CONUS4EVER. Dar be dragons overseas.
- Do a search before purchasing or selling. If they have been accused of scamming, they’re probably a scammer. If they have been accused of flipping, they’re probably an agent of Satan.
(1) large anvils, surprisingly, are enormously difficult to get though airport security.

No discussion about shipping/selling chips is complete without the usual moronic conus only addition. All I ever really hear happen though, is how the USPS keeps losing/stealing domestic shipments.
^^^^^This^^^^^I would listen to this guy EXCEPT when:
1. He talks chip efficiency
2. He says, ‘lets all play a little game called Chowaha’. You are being hustled.
