I think regardless on the basis they have designed them and they incorporated the colours they should ensure they match, I just hope that they do. Eagerly awaiting photos of final print production

By proof do you mean a physical sample they sent you a picture of, or a graphic proof like the example . If it's the graphic proof and shades seem off address it now. If it's the picture of a sample. It might have to do with the fact you chose textured chips and the edge is smooth. Basically matte paint vs gloss paint looks different even if the paint is the same color code. Sometimes cameras angles can exaggerate the effects while it isn't very noticable when you see them in person. Did you have physical samples sent to you? Are you in a rush because Chinese new year will effectively cause a month delay? I always recommend a physical sample before the bulk order they will usually express ship them for about $20

Ok sounds like you on the digital proof step. Here is an example of smooth edge texture face with the exact same color code and looking a little different shade in picture.

It is the graphic proof as above, the shades are only slightly off but have been assured they are the same colour… don’t know whether it’s just because the digital proof quality is quite grainy.

By picture do you mean the digital proof sent to you looked slightly different in colour and the photo above is what the finished product came out like? Thanks

Sorry that isn't the exact digital proof (different font and denomination) in the actual chip. This friend also made me harass poor Carmen with like 5 modifications.That proof is saved on this phone. I think you might still get what I'm trying to say.

Thanks for this, so essentially even if the proof matches perfectly, the final result could end up being off anyway.

I think what has happened in my case is when I have asked that they adjust the colour (lighter/darker) they may have forgotten to adjust the edge proofs accordingly. As I say, they have confirmed the colours are matching so it may just be the quality of the proof I have been sent and also the narrowness of the rolling edge proofs that is giving the illusion of a darker/lighter colour where they are actually the same.

I suppose it’s a case of waiting to see what comes and whether it’s acceptable or not.

In my experience with Tina chips, she sends a photo of the just the face, with an unprinted, white rolling edge. The edge is the last part of the process.

Yeah that’s all I had prior to mass production so you don’t actually get to see rolling edge until final production.

Hopefully if the rolling edge is the last part of production it will be noticed if there is an issue.

Chips arrived all good, apart from one denom which I am not liking my colour choices (not contrasting enough). Quick question for those who know, I ordered the chips textured… however, the textured finish is barely if at all noticeable, is that normal for textured ceramics? I can’t imagine how smooth, smooth ceramics would be.

I have taken an up close of my chips and I can see there is some sort of texture on the chips but barely if at all noticeable to the touch.

looks like you got textured chips. Top is textured bottom is smooth (and molded). I will say your texture is less textured looking than the chips I got but far from smooth.

And I would say the cards mold in your photo has more texture than the smooth no-mold chips. The smooth chips feel like the surface of a sheet of copy paper....VERY smooth.
