Dude posted these in a FB group asking about value. I messaged but got no reply yet. I'm interested in getting some of the yellow RAG chips if anyone else wants to go in with me let me know.

Looks like maybe some CJ chips in the post. The ones with the smaller edge markings. I think.

The guy looks like a regular seller not a chipper so hopefully these get priced low. No clue about shipping either. I'll update the post if I hear from him.

I commented on these on the Facebook post that I thought some were C and J. They are cool chips good luck with acquisition!

How many yellow's do you want? I'd be interested in 200 to 300 yellows if they are excellent/near mint.

I don't have experience with C&J. Would these match well with some other THC or RHC chips in a set?

Horribly. Not stated enough, especially by people listing C&J classifieds.

I had a mixed set, tabled it, and asked the others wtf was wrong with the chips. I am not a discerning chipper, hell I can barely shuffle chips, but I could tell the obvious difference in feel, sound, just overall “something” was off.

They explained all of one denom was C&Js, and then it was obvious.

Thank you for explaining this. In that case, I withdraw my interest ;)

I agree they have a "claknkier" feel to them especially stacked next to Paulsons.

I got a hold of the seller and so did some others. Everyone told him to come here to move the chips. Cool dude. He will be making a PCF account before long.

I think the fact that they’re probably C&J will drop what I’ll ultimately offer but we’ll see based on number of chips.

Hopefully he keeps some and gets them milled for the $1/2 game he runs too.

I clicked on this post being a fellow Okie and not seeing a ton of stuff pop up out here. I actually know this seller well. I've played with him on and off for 20 years now. I don't know what he wants but I do know him to be a good dude. There shouldn't be any worries if you make a deal with him.

FWIW, I sent this same guys messages several times about this set/post and never heard a peep. I eventually decided it must not be legit. Hope I’m wrong, but this was back on Dec 8th. I gave him my PCF handle, in case he was on here. Given his post, that seemed likely. Alas, he seemed less than sincere, at best. Enid, OK is fairly close to me, too.

He's legit. Been talking to him no problem since the 8th. He even accidentally video called me. I thought "he'll take the $2,000 I offered." Nope, I was the wrong number.

He just had to pump the breaks a little bit on the sale. He originally wanted $7K. It's the classic situation. Guy gets told chips are worth $4 a piece. Him and his buddy do the math and think they are on a pile of gold. They would rather have that much money over the chips.

But, when they realized they were not worth that much, the chips have more value to them than the $3,500 I guess. The seller runs a card room a few days of the week. I told him they should be using the RAG chips already or have them milled and custom labels be put on.

I think if they got offered $3,500- $4,000 for local pick-up they would sell. They probably don't wanna go thru the hassle of breaking the chips down and selling on eBay or here to get max value. Or they don't want to let them go for a low ball offer like mine, at $2,000. Then they don't wanna get sellers remorse.

The sweet spot would be around $3,500-$4,000 cash on a local pick-up. Make it too easy for them. I think that is too much for these. @Jers28 want me to hit him up for ya?

That's an extremely informative post I'm sure most folks here appreciate the insight, but in the future I would leave his name blacked out, at the very least his last name

Nah, I reread my posts to him. I was ridiculously gracious and friendly. He chose to ignore me, so he can figure it out or not. I’m not fussed about it, either way. As a professional salesperson, I’d advise him to ignore prospective buyers at your own peril. The funniest bit is that I likely would have given him $4k for the lot. And paying cash for local pickup wouldn’t have been an issue. But, I appreciate the information you shared! And I hope they find a good home(s). 😊

He posted the ad publicly on FB using his name.

Yeah I totally would have done that if he didn’t link his own FB profile.

I wonder why you felt the need to tell me to black out his name, but you didn’t take the time to check the original link. Seems like you just saw that I left his name in the pic and took the chance to correct me w/o actually knowing what’s up.

Appreciate the insight but in the future do some digging and get all the information first. Thanks.

RAG is the stamp on the chips.

C&J is for Christey and Jones. They made top hat and cane chips that are almost as good as paulsons.

I don't have FB.
That’s a cope bro. You’re whole angle was to make me look bad for leaving guys name in the screenshot.

I left his name in the second picture just to see what Karens were up and about. Then up you pop! Bright and early. I can just hear your comment in a crabby Karen lady voice.

“Great info for SOME people but you’re wrong cuz you didn’t crop out his name.”

Were you even involved in these thread before or just jump in for the early morning Karen mode.

Funny you didn’t think that this was linked to the guys real name. Like, duh, he wants to sell these chips. Probably gonna have his contact info involved.
