I have so much orgeat, cinnamon syrup, rich simple and basic simple syrup on hand.

1oz OF Rye
1oz Lairds Applejack
0.5oz Amaro Nonino
0.5oz Carpano Antica
3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Shake with ice and serve with an orange rind.

Very nice fall cocktail.

Always wanted to try a Manhatan with Kentucky Owl, and my bottle is a batch 11, so time to finish it. It ended up very smooth, beautiful drink.

Playing with new espresso machine

Espresso martini. Very tasty

Double shot espresso
1/2oz maple syrup
1oz kahlua
1.5oz vodka
Shake with ice.

Some peeps here recommended the Alberta Premium Cask Strength. It's rarely available for me, but a month or so ago there was a premium spirit release. I walked by it 3 or 4 times cause, for the love of the gods, it was 67%. Eventually I bought it.

I finished it last night and picked up a bottle of lot 40 dark oak that's a reasonable 48%. Problem is, now my cocktails taste like water...

Note the the layer of filmy bubbles with the 67% that never happens with lower abv spirits. What's up with that?

Smoked Walnut Old Fashioned

• 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila
• 0.5 oz Mezcal
• 0.5 oz Nocino (Walnut Liqueur)
• 1-2 dashes Orange Bitters
• Orange twist (garnish)

Tequila (Reposado): Provides a mellow, slightly woody foundation.
Mezcal: Adds a subtle smokiness that pairs well with the dark, tannic nature of Nocino.
Nocino: Brings a dark, bittersweet walnut flavor, acting as the sweetening element

A sophisticated riff on a Mezcal Negroni or a Oaxaca Old Fashioned.
