Thickness and softness of KEM poker. (2 Viewers)

I have a quick question about the Kem.
@Santa123 gave me a pair of bridge decks, and judging by the markings, they're from 1949.
I've heard they're all crooked, but they seem too thin and soft to me.
I understand that's good for the dealer, but it's very unusual. I'd prefer thicker, slightly stiffer ones.
What about the poker-sized Kem? For example, the arrows! Are they the same as these?

They just seem a bit flimsy compared to other brands.

Yeah, KEM is KEM. They don’t have different stocks. Some people think the stock changed after they were bought out by upcc. I’m not sure about that. But their soft, thin flexiness is their trademark.

The feel of KEMs if one the things I love most about them. They're just so nice to handle.

That said, I also love Faded Spades (mainly for the design), which are some of the stiffest cards you can find out there.

Arrows are the same as these. They feel flimsy and bad and the bow. I think Fournier are the sweet spot but I love most cards that aren't so high maintenance like KEMs.

People like them, and the Emporer's new clothes are splendid.

The first thought was: "How can this cost $75??"
Buy it if you can. Sell it later.

Fournier are truly excellent cards, there's no arguing with that.

My 1961 KEM setup is definitely flexier and softer than the KEM Arrows I bought a couple years ago. The ones from 1961 are so easy shuffle.

Mine are difficult to use; they're very curved, making it impossible to get a reliable feel. I mean, the curve affects their flexibility.

KEM are truly great cards. I'm falling in love with these cards more and more and I think I know how to make them flatter and more playable. But I need to experiment. Too bad I don't have the time.
10 sets are already on the way...

I bought a Set of KEM Arrows ~2009 or so and they have been extremley flexible and soft. I never had cards like these in the past years but I was able to play with KEM cards one year ago and they felt completely different than the old ones. They were good, but they felt like normal plastic cards without being special. I was shocked about it....

I've had the same bridge-sized KEM setup since I was a kid (over forty years, manufacture date '84). They shuffle and deal just as well as the day I got them. I used to have two setups, but somewhere along the way, one disappeared. Hoping to find it it buried in the garage somewhere though in a box full of old casino dice or something (I mean, one can always hope, and they were all in there somewhere at one point...guess I need to go digging).
