The axolotl, also known as the Mexican salamander, is a species of aquatic salamander endemic to Mexico, living in lake xochimilco. (Unfortunately on the verge of extinction).

The axolotl has a unique and fascinating appearance. It has smooth, scale-free skin, a broad, flat head with black eyes and external gills, giving it an alien-like appearance.
I've always found it to have a friendly face :)

Its external gills enable it to breathe underwater. However, it can also extract oxygen from the air using its lungs, making it a unique amphibious species.
One of the axolotl's most surprising features is its extraordinary capacity for regeneration. When it loses a limb for example, it can grow back completely within a few weeks, leaving no scars. It can regenerate limbs, spine, heart and even part of its brain.
This characteristic has aroused great interest among scientists, who are studying the axolotl in the hope of understanding the mechanisms of regeneration and applying this knowledge to regenerative medicine in humans.

By the way, you can make a donation here to help preserve axolotls in their natural habitat. Thanks for them :)

In Poker we could say that with these amazing abilities the Axolotl is a bit in unlimited auto-rebuy mode !!!

I know the theme may seem odd :p but for me Axolotl is a family stuff. (And apparently it also speaks at least to @Bobb59 and @Charly ;))

So I wanted a fun set to honor this little creature, and it was also a perfect excuse to try out CPC's A-Crest mold :)

No spots progression, I intentionally chose 6A14 spots only as a reference to the axolotl's six gills.
Sorry for the spot progression purists… they can stop reading this post

I let you discover my new, simple but fun, Axolotl Club cash set. Enjoy !

So nice to see the project come to life.

Congratulations again my dearest @Fran !! ;)

Fun theme; love the little guy in his top hat. And long live the .10/.50/2/10/50 breakdown. I know it's a European thing but as an Aussie it works for me too even if it does tilt the Americans.
Ty for this. Was tilted but feeling better now.

Beautiful and fun set. “Gill-ty of bluffing” DB had me chortle.

Great set - you nailed it! Love the inlay and really cool colour combos. Bravo!

Beautiful set and a really cool inspiration. Had never seen this denomination breakdown, but even being from the US, I think this could be a very good breakdown for micro games, would certainly take getting used to, but could certainly be a lot of fun.

Great theme and set. The blurple and light chocolate chips are really nice!
