progress pr0n update from the master craftsman:

“Starts with blanks that I mill up with the grooves for the chips. Then those get cut down and the walnut strips glued to the short side. Once that’s dry I rip the racks down to size (66.7mm in this case) and then glue the walnut strips to the long side. Final step is using my stationary belt sander to sand the top, bottom and ends flush.

Next step for me is to finalize the display chip arrangement and layout and get the blanks that will get milled for the chips to sit in. Then I can size the trays everything will fit into which will give me internal box dimensions.”

Question - do any of you Tiger owning scrub donkeys have a set of calipers and could do a quick check - or send me in direction of 39mm / 43mm / 48mm size verification info? Suppose any modern paulson would work. Alec is wondering if 0.5mm space would work around the edges.

Alec is working on the center display section where I’ll have the sample chips showing, similar to the below. I’ve since added one more rack of chips.

His question was, “Due to the odd shape of the lower open space around the racks, this needs to be two different pieces of wood. Let me know what you think and confirm dimensions. Any chance you can get a caliper on these chips for a more accurate diameter? If not, then I will add a 0.5mm to the nominal diameter of all these chips cavities to make sure they will fit where they're supposed to.”

Next PCF help request, for the 80mm and 65mm buttons, anyone have a thickness in mm by chance - @justincarothers ?

With my oh so accurate tailors tape, I got the following:

1. 65mm buttons are 10 mm thick
2. 80mm buttons are 19 mm thick

Do you even lumber bro?
I'm not even a "bro" kinda guy but it felt right in the moment :wtf: I can't wait to see the finished product. Having Alec build something custom is just another addictive option in this hobby:bigbucks:

I'm a little late to the show but think you've missed a golden opportunity for a quote.

Haha! Yeah I signed off on the below laser mockup for all the different quotes from earlier in the thread, so these are locked in now:

Damn @Kam I wish I had seen this earlier. Think it might have been cool to have a few quotes splashed on the bottom instead of just one. That would have been really cool to see and super creative.
