Kind of straight forward question, in my quest to obtain every card brand available as a crazy collector at this point, and file for chapter 11 from it haha. Has anyone tried the brand A Plus? There's no information on the cars when i look them up except Kardwell and homepokertourney, the rest are weird Alibaba and cards that aren't the same brand. If they're Chinese or other low quality import 24 bucks a set is outrageous

I got a raise at work few days ago so going to clamp down on a huge order soon.

I bought a bunch from Kardwell for a local GB for us CO members, when they still had bridge/jumbo setups. The feel of the cards is great! They have a nice feel. Kind of a medium softness.
Then I went to a game where one of the locals put them in play. Within an hour one of the players noticed the white border on one card was cut thin, compared to the rest of the cards in the deck. Happens to be one of aces, essentially marking the deck. So I would be worried about overall quality issues.
We pulled the deck from play immediately, and I went home and sold all my setups.
Again, the cards have a great feel. I would just be concerned about quality/print issues.

Does it say where they are made? High quality things can come from China or Taiwan like Royals, they seem to be pretty good. But probably skipping royals unless i can get an amazing deal or try them out irl, don't like the face cards.

But 24 bucks for an okay card set is hard to bite with the QA problems like you had, when super flex are 5 more dollars.

I remember having a set of them ages ago. One card dropped from the table onto the (industrial) carpeted floor on a corner and the card actually broke. Chipped off the corner, rendering the card useless.

I had one card from the other half of the setup also crack in a strange way (I had been using it for solitare). That was enough for me to ignore them as cards to consider.

80% of my play with decks is solitaire as of now (no one playin cards right now 😢 too busy with life and stuff), but that's wild. Definitely a bad price for something like that. From the pictures i found they look kind of cool in face art, similar but better than Royals somehow. But I'll pick up 4 extra dal negro packs for the same price, much appreciated

Yep. Had a few of the bridge jumbo.

Just threw some out last week actually. They were old.

Design is nice.
Card stock wasn’t great. They became sticky after use.

Mm i wonder why they got sticky? Was it from playing? Damage?

I regularly wash my cards, i feel my first prestige deck i had got "sticky". But i abused the hell out of it so it could of just been marks in the cards holding gross stuff. I washed my cards lightly back then too, dip in soap water, then clean sater, then light hand towel rub then left to air dry a bit. I'd maybe rub with my fingers in the soap, but I recently starting using a rag to wipe the cards. Soap, rag, soap, clean water them dry. Helped so much!

My dirty Fourniers had a "smooth" texture comparable to a mouse after hand full of chips, but no food was eaten around them. Gross! felt great after the wash and my set of 49' kems were ready again. It's time consuming but i will eventually get around to doing all the decks I've played with, but rule is to treat them nice you'll pay for it in time later

Just picked up a single Desjgn deck, i needed to add a black back color to my collection. So i got the black diamond poker sized cards, pretty nice! I know these are the older stock, haven't really played with them to see. They riffle/bridge shuffle great, but they are extremely light somehow. Wish i got bridge and poker black backs! The weight is just very odd and i don't know of the bridge size would of felt better, i wanted more room for the art

But seems like A plus is a skip, 24 is a LOT of money for a eh set like i said. Again thanks much appreciated 🙏

Yep skip them for that price.

For a local option, can’t go past broken arrow.

For someone who has invested time into playing cards (statesman bridge jumbo), I highly rate the broken arrow.
Value for $ is second to none.

I think it'd be neat to have a deck from every brand especially from something other than the top brands now (kem, copag, da vinci/modiano Fournier) , doesn't make those brands bad just a lot easier to acquire with little research. I never heard of broken spade before joining the forum, I've dabbled here and there in threads for card reviews over the years. And I've been collecting cards a long time But unless they are unaffordable, I'll hate them or fragile I'll skip a card brand.

Personally like poker jumbo if i have to buy non standard index, bigger art work. But I'm very interested in broken arrow, everyone loves them and i absolutely agree from the outside price is crazy affordable. They are kind of neat looking too, very different from other jumbos. I'd like to thin my collection out a bit before buying more, i know i can always list sets i don't like later if i pick up some broken arrow or faded spade. Even if i like a brand I'd rather it be rehomed and used than sit, I'm interested in faded spade too but I'm so scared I'll open one deck, shuffle and Sprint to my computer to list them.

But they've been on my list, incredible deal in today's card market and i can always raffle them off for fun prize at home!
