Scammed by USPS? (4 Viewers)

I’m aware of this problem. And I can’t understand why I do it.
My wife scolds me for it too. She’s a journalist, and these ellipses of mine just make her shake. :-)

The funny thing is, I never do this in official correspondence.
You’re not the worst I’ve encountered. I used to

….correspond with a guy….

…that used prellipsis as well

Remember Miko Grimes GIF

You know what would make this thread less depressing. Anyone willing to sell me a Sundance sample set/high denoms or a barrel of ESPT t25.
I'll see if I have any post-it notes to get rid of.

Seriously though, I would be disappointed in anybody selling you chips at this point that didn't also include a ream of paper. I mean sure, it would increase the cost of shipping, but the idea that you would start getting so much paper your poker room would look like a Dunder Mifflin warehouse makes it worth the prank.

I would gladly buy paper to go along with this incomplete rack!

Whew! Made it through all 23 pages. Glad there was (sort of) a resolution.

If I ever buy a large-value chip order, I’ll be asking the seller to tape an Apple Air-Tag to the side of a rack and share its tracking info with me. Instant 24/7 geolocation!

Yes but that wouldn’t have done anything in this case.

A few chippers recommended video tape the packaging but even that could be duped.

And losing $2500 is no resolution. I’d call it a compromise I guess. Fucking just lock this thread I am so over it lol

Seems he only give a refund
For people who might be skimming, or just reading the first and last page, an important piece of information is that he gave a partial refund. Half. So either he's lost $2500 or he's scammed $2500.

He actually gave a full refund (albeit after he found out I had credit card protection, and over a week later).

I voluntarily gave him $2500 back true to my word when I only asked for 50%. I don’t know if he scammed me or the post office. I have my assumptions. But can’t be certain I suppose, and hence offered to split the loss.

Is this the first time it’s been spelled out clearly that monkey sent back cash refund in full? (Maybe it’s not and I missed it, I only remember reading the 2500 split).

At the end of the day the only certain fact is that it has sucked for Booyah, and that Booyah lost $2,500, a not insignificant sum.

That can be true, while it’s also true that this entire thread is a fucking dumpster fire. At this rate, somehow, it may be better to have the admin callouts when potential issues/fraud arises, a la jpietrella sales thread Tommy posts.

I don’t think that’s a great idea, but it’s far better than the 23 pages of nonsense this turned into.

Thank you for correcting me. This is important.

No, it says in the thread that he offered a full refund, but buyer only accepted half back. And this is only after this thread was made calling him out. He refused to offer anything in the beginning, so don’t credit him is doing the right thing when he only did it when he got caught

He settled w a third party, I won’t say how or what he gave the third party, but the third party had $5k ready for me. I told the third party to only send me $2500.
FWIW, that’s what I’ve always thought was the reasonable way to settle a transaction where a package was lost or destroyed (though I’ve never had it happen.)
But if I suspected fraud, I’m sure I’d feel differently.
