It would be nice, but my experience in ordering custom goods from pretty much any source is this is kind of how they do it. Tell you you are in the queue, give you a general idea of when they might get to you, usually that gets pushed back without any notice and eventually you get your product.
Frankly doesn’t bother me at all. I placed my order, it will get here when it gets here. Knowing how long that’s going to take is not going to make any difference. Probably doesn’t have to respond to as many emails as you think. Not everyone has ants in their pants.
