Upcoming molds......... (25 Viewers)

Debbie Downer here. Proofs can be received at any time, has nothing to do with when they might run.
Likely some correlation as they will want to finalize before molds are installed and can schedule production I assume. My two EWING orders placed 4 months before the scrown still haven't had final proofs, but assumed to be one of the last runs. But yeah, who knows, and production scheduling can always change.

:wtf:

Agreed... I know I'm begging...

Last CPC order: Submitted/Paid Scroll order: Dec 2023. Received Scroll order: Nov 2024.
I'm guessing (hoping?) it'll be the same...

Can’t set up shipping notification cause of how landlord has addresses but I pray each day to get home to a “we missed you” slip from USPS with my CSQs

Since there was an order deadline, I would think at some point A-Mold orders simply have to finish and they will pop it out and run 2 of the “other” molds at same time? Maybe wishful thinking, but really hope that is the case.

I would imagine molds can only run concurrently across their available cavities if they have the same material composition & thickness as the other cavities (something mentioned before as a variable in production and material ordering/storage). So there may be some molds that could be swapped in when a changeover is convenient (assuming materials staged), but likely a limited set.

But speculating based upon past info.

Hopefully @CPC_Mike will fix this process. Being in the dark for so long, with thousands of dollars being paid, is unacceptable.

David is responsive. If you want an update, you just have to email him. He may not give you an exact run time if it is unknown, but he’ll respond.

In my opinion there should be some sort of public update so each person doesn’t have to email. How hard would it be to have an update on the website? Or here for us degens? Every couple of weeks, or even just once a month give a public update. What mold is in, estimate of how much longer that mold will be in, what’s on deck, etc etc.

Seems like a simple request to me. I would rather do that than respond to every email with an update.

Yep, click somewhere to see what molds are currently in production, what molds are next in line (maybe the next two), click on a mold to see when the next anticipated run will be on that mold and what the corresponding cutoff date for that mold would be. So many options that CPC could update once or twice per month instead of responding to multiple emails.

I received proofs maybe 2 months ago, just got shipping notice for Saturday delivery of CSQ (ordered Dec '24)

I'm guessing the proofs have to do with the very start of making your order. Like they want to make a certain amount of a less-used color clay, and it's spread across 15 different orders, so they might've started making the base clay for my order 2 months ago but didn't put the final chips together until last week.

It would be nice, but my experience in ordering custom goods from pretty much any source is this is kind of how they do it. Tell you you are in the queue, give you a general idea of when they might get to you, usually that gets pushed back without any notice and eventually you get your product.

Frankly doesn’t bother me at all. I placed my order, it will get here when it gets here. Knowing how long that’s going to take is not going to make any difference. Probably doesn’t have to respond to as many emails as you think. Not everyone has ants in their pants.

With how many of those other custom goods that you’re talking about is the vendor involved in a public forum such as PCF?

so true. ive purchased custom pool cues and custom guitars in the past. this is exactly how it usually works. i actually ordered a custom pool cue back in 2006 that had a 8 year waiting period...number just came up last sept. 8 years turned into 19 years. but its being built as i type this.

Hope they didn't demand extra payment due to inflation.

i cost nothing to get on the list, i didnt pay a dime until last sept. however, the cue im having built would have been around $2000 in 06', but its $6000 currently. but once i receive it, its worth $10,000-$12000. buts thats irrelevant as i wont be selling it.

General equation = add 10-20% to the price if you want better service

A salesperson who will interface with you every step of the way. Basic ordering questions as well as product info (and perhaps a beefed up website with great photos, video, etc), and then check on order status with friendly updates (and upsells). Finally a follow up call after you’ve received your order to answer any final questions, obtain a testimonial, and thank you for your business

Perhaps the new owner will integrate this into the biz. Or just focus on making chips. It’s a choice!

Several, for instance my custom chip cabinet and the additional orders rack orders after that, custom table, custom chip labels, 3D printing items…all from PCF vendors.

An important factor. I imagine CPCs have a limited customer base largely due to their cost. Maybe was a conscious decision to keep customer service basic for fear of getting less business.

8-19 years for a pool cue????? Do they have to grow the tree for each order?? What they hell could possibly make it take that long?

supply and demand. there is only 1 person making the cues, with possibly a helper or 2. there are only about 100-150 made per year and they are fully custom to customer specs. it costs nothing to get on the list, i only first paid last sept when my number finally came up. - south west cues

An unpaid waiting list obviously doesn’t demand the same expectations as a prepaid order. Have you had any communication since you paid?
