Anybody else feeling like their stuff that would’ve sold in 15 minutes before is unmoveable now?

$140 a rack for bright white trimoon minty housemold casino Paulsons, no takers, bizarre.
Yup.

Tried to auction off a one of a kind BCC cash set with a very workable 0.25/0.50 single table breakdown for the price I paid and got nothing. This would have sold for at least double 5 years ago.

So you’re saying you’ll pay $130/rack?
Not saying it's a horrible deal, and I'm sure someone would enjoy them. And they will probably sell, at least a bit closer to face value. But expecting them to sell at 1.5x face value in 15minutes is a strech for me, both in todays market and a couple of years back.

They are far from a case of "great set not selling at a low price", and its far from bizarre that they are not selling.

Live chips
House mold
Ugly inlay
Far from cheap
Limit set

My 2c at least

Ok got it so can I put you down for 4 racks or 5?

Buyer's fear of missing out is gone. Yet sellers still thinking their chips are worth what buyer's used to pay. Similar to what happens to real estate market.

From someone who has only had an account for 18 months, Ive been stunned at what prices sets were selling at. Priced out of market... by myself. I've got the money to amass a hoard. But I didn't because I can't justify the cost at the prices seen.

An example of this may help explain. I've seen a few sets I wanted so bad. So beautiful. But Paulson's priced at $10 to $20 a chip? That doesn't make sense to me when I could order a new CPC set with very similar colours/spots (but my custom inlay) for $3 to $6 a chip. Doesn't help that I prefer CPC over Paulson either.

Yeah, yeah, the whole scrub donkey thing. That's cool. I love all you whacky crazy chip people, but to me it seems you went nutso and fever-drove up your own market. Now struggling to deal with not getting the same prices now that the fever broke. The future; I don't see prices dropping much. More likely people will sit on their sets rather than take a loss when selling. Chips will still move but the volumes lower to a smaller pool of buyers with mad money. Hence prices won't drop but stay similar.

Definitely a tough time to sell, especially if you’re expecting 2020 prices in return. Seems like only grail chips still sell for a premium, and even then, only if that premium is within reason.

I’d only sell chips right now if I absolutely needed the money.

Maybe there’s a silver lining: less flippers because there’s not a lot of profit to be had. (Probably not)

I recently had no problems selling chips for what they were really worth, what I paid for them at most. Select few posts are affordable to the common poker player, but they will still pay around $2 for a good chip, $3 for really good. I never sell to make money, just to get back most if not all I paid.

There have been hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on chips since the inception of this thread. Millions most probably.
I wonder what the actual $ figure would be for that actually. Of course it would be impossible to calculate as so many sales were done privately etc.

This shouldn’t be controversial, but if you lower the price of your chips every day or so, they will sell. And if you’re worried about taking losses, because it all adds up, like the late great Gary Gulman wisely pointed out, it doesn’t add up if you don’t add it.

Don’t say “late” you scared me!

Losses!?

People are just worried they won’t see their annual 26.4% increase of value/worth across their investment poker chip sets.

If you’re not winning every single transaction, you’re not pcfing right.

Everything for the most part still moves at prices it should move at.

The last time people had examples it was the longhorns and $1 white housemolds from Arizona. Lolz.

Same thread and same sentiment as always. Public buying/selling effed.

We've been at this situation for years now. Only difference is now the community has lost a HUGE % of all the folks who bought/sold sets publicly constantly. Now most of those folks are retired or in sell off mode.

Looks like you can only eff over people for so long. When every single PCF member has to make $0.01 on every single chip transaction, eventually you run into a wall.

Is this a hint at Faro Dunes V2? :ROFLMAO:
sorry.. there will not be a part 2 to the Faro Dunes chips. All versions were fully disclosed at the initial release. Sold thru about 75% of the inventory in the 3 months prior to summer. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I were 'forced' to keep the remaining ~15k chips. Could host a great meet-up!
