I found someone selling 1200 plastic unicorn mold chips for $80

There’s x260 5000s, x740 1000s, and x300 500s

I've been looking for a cheap tournament set, however, unfortunately this set only has 500s, 1000s, and 5000s. I'm debating if its still worth it to buy them and then have to find some 100s (and maybe 25s) somewhere. From my research they seem to be ok chips for the price and used to be made by chipco?

Any advice? Thanks!

$80? 1200? Unicorn?

That breakdown is funky, but for 80-bucks that's a fun set to have.

Only downside if you might have a hard time finding the other denoms in any reasonable/playable quantity.

I may be wrong, but I believe there was an older Chipco version that had heft, shuffled great, and sounded okay too, less ceramic-y than a Chipco or Sunfly type of ceramic chip. Then there was a cheap, lightweight plastic unicorn version that was akin to a diamond plastic. If they're the former, it's a fantastic deal despite not being the most usable breakdown.

Yeah there's a hefty Chipco-made one which has a clay-ish feel. And then there's the extra cheap extremely light plastic. Not sure if I could tell the difference just in photos, you'd probably want to ask for weight per chip.

I mean, that's a great price. They go for like $120 for 500 on amazon.

The Unicorn Mold was actually used for real compressed clays at one time. I don’t know if anybody’s seen any, aside from the Opera House chips. And I wouldnt buy unicorns hoping they they’ll turn out to be clay. But for that price, they’re a steal.
Buy them now!

I was referring to these.

I've got a sleeve of these and they feel very close to NexGen Pro.

Do you know who would have made the compressed clay unicorn mold? I thought Chipco was the first to sell them, but they wouldn't have manufactured compressed clay would they? You can see the injection molding spot on the chips below on the ring outside the label/hotstamp area.

They're certainly close to compressed clay, though around 8g if I recall correctly.
