View attachment 1493632This bottle has greatly rewarded patience and restraint! I opened this bottle on Memorial Day of 2023 and it has developed into one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had! I remember it being really good from the jump, but the nose on this has just gone to a whole different level and it translates into the palate as well. Just wow!
There's an ec18 at my local, which tends to mark up a good amount.

Is 169 a decent price or too much?

Not bad at all, msrp is $150, they're usually $200 around here. At 170 I'd grab it if I didn't have one, but I also love EC18.
$169 is what they retail for here in NC and we typically pay MSRP. I paid $155 for mine 2 years ago and I’d snap buy another one at $169 if I run across one. Very fair price!

I’ve essentially stopped buying until I can find time to drink some more. That said, if something interesting pops up (or some of my favorite hard-to-find bottles), I’ll pick one up. Local store just released this ($59.99). 1st Old Ezra pick in the state of MD too.

I used to love that at $50-60...it's now $80 around me unfortunately.

I'm waiting until my daughter chime home this summer to open my bottle! I can't wait.

Just be patient with it Bill. The halfway empty point is where mine became ridiculously good. I know you’re not one to keep a bottle around very long, but this one is worth the wait!

I can count on one hand how many bottles I’ve ever had last 2+ years and this is one of them

I have had a few bottles that have made it a year. I'll try.

I have decided that I'm opening it today. We are in the middle of a 36 year Anniversary weekend Celebration!

Colleen suggested that i wait and open with skeins that works appreciate it more. There isn't any bigger reason to crack into it than this!

That’s the one I sent you, right?

I get Alberta Premium Cask Strength on steroids! I still have about half of mine. Hope you’re enjoying it!
Yep, I haven't had the chance for a real review yet, and after a very long day, today is not the day either lol. I will say the age on this is very, very apparent, which I often don't notice as much with strong ryes. This is definitely better than Alberta premium, much more refined.

Now for a new bottle pop: Oban 15 year Cask Strength:

First impression is very nice, and very different. Very sweet and syrupy to balance the salty typical Oban notes, tons of raisins and honey, pretty unique. Will likely be grabbing a backup.

I'm not a scotch guy, but I do like a few. The way you guys rave about this bottle makes me want to give it a try...see you in June!
I always have an Oban on hand, and it's a bottle I often to bring to parties/meetups too. Just a great all around sipper, I find it appeals to a lot of different palates.
