TRK set pricing? (1 Viewer)

I bid $20k forthe whole lot and the wife was getting back to me after talking to her husband. If they’re already sold my bid wasn’t enough.

These are max $2.5/chip and that’s only for the $100 and $500. I think the $1s $5s and $25s might be <$2/chip.

They’re “leaded” but not the heavy old school TRKs I had hoped.

If they show up on the forum I hope they’re not trying to flip for max profits. Not sure they will get there
it reads llike a logic puzzle…. Your wife was talking to her husband. :-)

My wife wasnt involved. The eBay listing was by a guy. His wife was responding to messages and said she had to talk to him first before accepting offers.

If it was my wife talking to her husband then I’m sure I would have gotten a good deal. Lol

If my wife we talking to her husband she would say what are you doing spending $20k on chips. That’s why we don’t talk about chips. :-)

Going to go ahead and break everyone’s heart. Someone paid significantly more than I was willing to pay for these…. I hope it’s someone from here and the chips still find their way into the community. I just know they’ll cost significantly more than I was going to sell them for! lol.
I’m relieved actually. Now I just need the next chiproom sale to not be for THCs with amazing colors :ninja:

That's still a great deal.
About the same price as brand new chips from GPI. Except these are supposedly 10.5 and leaded?
I’m not sure I understand everyone’s concerns over potential markup considering the 10.5 and leaded parts alone?

Don’t folks normally take out 2nd mortgages and max out credit cards over lesser quality?
Just some thoughts that come to mind when I read this thread.

Not anymore it seems.

I think the inlay with the phone number is almost hideous enough to be a complete deal breaker, but I’d still buy at $2-3 per because leaded TRKs.

Not crazy about the inlay either but I do know a member named @Gear. ;)

I’m really just playing devils AssHatvocate anyway. ;) But I love me some TRKs!

Oh Baby look at those!

$45k for how many chips in total ?

I can’t seem to find the total number of chips involved

Edited I found them it 45k for around 17k of chips
It most likely was the whole rental business. Maybe table and cards and chip carrying tubs?

I’d figure the buyer will shoot for about $50,000 on return and a set of chips. If they keep a 2000 chip set that leaves 50/15 = $3.33 selling price.
So about $3300 for a 1000 piece set resell. They won’t sell instantly but they will sell.

Not a terrible deal at all imo.

Personally, I don’t have much interest at more than $3/chip, but if the price is around there, I’ll still be tempted to pick up a set to re-label.
My thoughts precisely. Hope these stay in the community otherwise!

Speaking from experience, if these have TRK's paper inlays, then you'd have to have the patience of a Saint (and then some) to murder and relabel an entire set. We are talking 20+ minutes a chip! Doesn't look like they'll take an overlabel either.

They'll still fly at $3 a chip but, given the current market and the supposed price paid for the haul, anything above $4 might become a struggle.

This is an ok deal, not a fantastic one. I predict they will come to the community at $3.50-$4 per chip in sets, minimum.

I think $4/chip is ambitious. If it had better colors than just plain primary then maybe. Primary solid sets have trouble selling for $1.50/chip. And the spots arent very interesting. Just 4d14, most basic TRK spots. If it had cool colors and cool spots then $4-6/chip but as is $2.50 seems more reasonable. But then again you never know with some of these people

Of course $2.50 is much more reasonable, but there is no way they will be listed at a loss.

They won't be able to take an overlabel unfortunately. Not enough recess at all, if any.
