Die? Like the millions that perished at the hands of the Third Reich?I did not post this to create controversy between PCF members. Let's let this post die. My apologies.

Lol. Saw this one coming a mile away.I did not post this to create controversy between PCF members. Let's let this post die. My apologies.
I respect your position and my personal feelings are probably close. But all this “full stop” language feels a lot more emotional than logical to me. I have a hard time with absolutes.I just reported the listing to eBay as violating their policy on displaying offensive or violent material. I imagine eBay moderators are more likely to pay attention if there are multiple reports, if you want to find it and report it yourself. But I am not going to provide a link to it.

Saying it is okay to display this symbol because it used to have a neutral or positive meaning before it presided over the slaughter of 80 million people, is like someone using the n-word and claiming it is okay because it used to have a neutral meaning. Words change meaning over time. Symbols change meaning over time. Today this symbol means hate and threatens violence - stop pretending it does not.
The vast majority of Americans and Europeans who display this symbol in a gratuitous manner (say, on poker chips) and "innocently" claim "heritage" are liars speaking out the side of their mouths. If you display this symbol, you are a nazi. Full stop. If you defend the symbol then you are a nazi. Full stop. The eBay listing states multiple times the seller is not a nazi. The seller doth protest too much, methinks.
Was that really necessary??Die? Like the millions that perished at the hands of the Third Reich?
You have an issue with dark humor or the facts. Let me know then we can have a discussionWas that really necessary??
I am Polish and even I know who Benedict Arnold was....Not touching those with a ten foot pole don't care no way no how uh uh burn them. That symbol no mater what country or religion should be gone. There's a reason you don't run into anyone born after 1950 named Adolf and this symbol should go too.
Sidenote...how many Americans named Benedict have you known?
Your just being an ass now and I have NO idea why. The eBay listing had nothing to do with the facts you state...which everyone knows so im not sure what your point was. Let me know when u mature and can act like an adult. I thought ppl were mature enough to handle this topic. Apparently I was wrongYou have an issue with dark humor or the facts. Symbols can inspire people to do terrible things including kill. But a symbol never killed anybody.
He did. The iron cross is a documented and persistent hate symbol. It should not be perpetuated.Just imagine if Hitler had instead decided to use the Christian cross for his political propaganda campaign. Would we still consider it distasteful today and insist all versions be destroyed, regardless of context?
The seller claims it is a Native American symbol. This is a well-known tactic of those trying to pass this hate symbol around with plausible deniability. The burden is on the seller to show that these were in fact created for or at the request of Native American buyers. All the seller provides as proof is that these were made in the 1930s. The nazi party was formed in 1920 and immediately adopted this symbol and a platform of hate. The American chapter of the nazi party was established shortly after. People absolutely knew this was a nazi symbol in the 1930s.The eBay listing had nothing to do with the facts you state
Your comments served no relevant purpose other than to stir the pot. I was simply asking people to not argue. You apparently couldn't help yourself. This is the last thing this forum needs and i respect this site and its members enough that I will no longer respond to your dribble. Was your original post "mature"?
"Wanna impress all your friends!? Buy these babies and invite all your friends and neighbors over for Poker night. Just looking at this listing felt awkward! Wow! LMAO!"
I have replied with both serious and joking replies based on other's comments as this thread progressed. The fact that you got butt hurt on one of my comments makes you the immature one.
But a symbol never killed anybody. J

???? I don’t know, here’s a theory:FINALLY, some good WW2 discussion! I figured we'd done Tina and NAGB to death, let's discuss trolley issues! Pull the lever?!

Hmmm, I like the effort but I'm not sure you understand the idea of the trolley problem. No worries, we can work on this.???? I don’t know, here’s a theory:
Hail the Lusitania, it’s not armed or escorted.
Give them x number of units of time to put civilians on lifeboats before you sink it.
Sink it when you said you would
Help the civilians as much as you can till other help arrives
Of course here is where you sink all the other ships that arrive to help too.
Humans, what you gonna do?
Why am I responsible for this issue? Am I a trainman or something? If so I’d do much better planning before this situation happened. If I’m not in charge of this, why am I responsible?Hmmm, I like the effort but I'm not sure you understand the idea of the trolley problem. No worries, we can work on this.

Ah! The beauty of responsibility! That's what is at the HEART of these issues! What onus is there to save another?! You can walk away, not having pulled the lever. Why am I responsible for this issue? No there’s just not enough context. Who are the people? Who put them on the tracks and why? I mean maybe they deserve it or asked for it.Ah! The beauty of responsibility! I like to think deep down, we're all trainmen.
