Native Americans used it also. It was on alot of native schools before ww2.I thought it was a symbol in India not for Native Americans. Maybe I’m misremembering
The nazi swastika is reversed from the peaceful one pictured in @Marius L’s picture. These are nazi poker chips.
That’s interesting. I’ve only ever seen the oppo Nazi orientationEastern traditions have used the swastika in both orientations.
yes, history does matter.
Uh. I see them all the time. Work in tech and most Hindu/Indian individuals when they buy a car will paint one across the hood for good fortune. It's super common and is a daily occurrence.yes, history does matter.
Roll around Russia, Poland, France, UK, Israel, US, Canada, etc with one and see how long it takes - lol.
I hear you, however the broader picture is tens of millions of people dead and an entire continent in ruins tends to have a negative effect on things.I think my main point is things can be hijacked & meanings lost.
The symbol invoked love & peace for thousands of years, and then used for a socialist war symbol for literally a tiny fraction…. And now everyone hates it.
Shows how history can be so important. Especially so we can remember the good things, and continue those positive vibes.
Yes - and it’s utterly offensive and demonstrates an utter and complete disregard and disrespect for our culture. I’ve seen here too, and they were told to stop.Uh. I see them all the time. They don’t tend to have many Jews in India…
Couldn’t give less of a shit what it means in another country or culture. Here, it’s not cool - period.
Sorry, not sorry.
Nazis?Yay politics forummmmm
Wait till ya find out what's happening in Disney world!
Yup. I think they are the ones that are afraid to show their faces and run away from counter protestors.Nazis?
What’s utterly offensive is your complete disregard of 2500 years of Asian culture because some white people coopted a symbol and did some terrible things. The people who co-opted that symbol are the people you should be disgusted with, not the symbol they stole from a ancient culture that still exists today.Yes - and it’s utterly offensive and demonstrates an utter and complete disregard and disrespect for our culture. I do see your point, however somethings are better left dead and buried. This being one of them.
There are at least 8 listings.I just reported the listing to eBay as violating their policy on displaying offensive or violent material. I imagine eBay moderators are more likely to pay attention if there are multiple reports, if you want to find it and report it yourself. But I am not going to provide a link to it.

Saying it is okay to display this symbol because it used to have a neutral or positive meaning before it presided over the slaughter of 80 million people, is like someone using the n-word and claiming it is okay because it used to have a neutral meaning. Words change meaning over time. Symbols change meaning over time. Today this symbol means hate and threatens violence - stop pretending it does not.
The vast majority of Americans and Europeans who display this symbol in a gratuitous manner (say, on poker chips) and "innocently" claim "heritage" are liars speaking out the side of their mouths. If you display this symbol, you are a nazi. Full stop. If you defend the symbol then you are a nazi. Full stop. The eBay listing states multiple times the seller is not a nazi. The seller doth protest too much, methinks.

Not a practicing Christian , I’m not Muslim . Guess I go through the Nazi doorIt's still a commonly used symbol in East Asia. I've seen it a lot in China/Taiwan when I've been there. Here's a picture I took in the airport in Taiwan this April.
