Oh are those for sale?
Well, he ended up with a lot of sets that were “never for sale” by other people.
I’ll bet the same mojo he used can be used on him. Just takes the next level sponsor
Oh are those for sale?
CM refers to Cards Mold - a relatively new kind of ceramic that can be customized cheaply from china - Tina sells them. Can you explain a bit for these abbreviated terms for new chippers?
I see 'Tina' and CM' all the time. Still no real idea what they refer to.
TP, GB? THC (top hat?)?
Thanks![]()
This is really great info for people just getting into this.CM refers to Cards Mold - a relatively new kind of ceramic that can be customized cheaply from china - Tina sells them.
TP refers to Tiger Palace - a colorful set of THCs (Top Hat and Cane) chips recently purchased directly from Paulson (presumably by tricking them into thinking a casino was buying them) and then resold here at prices in the $7-$10 per chip neighborhood.
GB refers to Group Buy - this is how a lot of chips are purchased - lots of people get together and buy 20,000 chips from Tina; that way they get them even more cheaply. And not sure if it was mentioned, but NAGB refers to Not A Group Buy which is what we refer to chips like Tiger Palace which are bought directly from Paulson (under the guise of being a casino) and then resold here for $10-$20 apiece.

I’m sorry. Here are many of the abbreviations I use. It’s bad form but that’s me…Can you explain a bit for these abbreviated terms for new chippers?

I’m sorry. Here are many of the abbreviations I use. It’s bad form but that’s me…
CM = Cards Mold and Tina is/was a liaison for ordering.
GB = Group Buy (better known as NAGB or Not a Group Buy Group Buy…this is something you need to search for yourself) NAGB has much history put into it. You need the background to understand but it generally stirs up angst and bad feelings. Search it out. I don’t even know if there is available informative threads left to comb, this site is highly moderated and negative posts and butthurt type of stuff gets removed. On to a few more…
THC = Top Hat & Cane
AS = Aurora Star (NAGB or “Boat” chips)
ES = Empress Star (NAGB or “Boat” chips)
AST = Aurora Star Tournament (also Boats)
SB = Sunset Beach (NAGB GB)
RPC = Royal Princess Casino (NAGB GB)
TP = Tiger Palace (NAGB GB)
BCC = Blue Chip Company
TRK = Teddy Roosevelt King & Company. (Started back in 1923-25 sometime, and the King part of the name, refers to the crown style molds they used on their iconic chips!
Again, sorry I post so many abbreviations
Yep, the guy who started the company was a big Teddy fanboi.TR in TRK is Teddy Roosevelt? Never knew that. Lol

That’s a well spent $1700 right there.
TRK’s… *drools in chip envy*
Lots of great chips here! I started my game with a set of Claysmiths and upgraded to custom ceramics. It honestly comes down to what your budget is and how many players you have. Your average home game player doesn't really get invested in the chips. That is my 2 cents anyway.
