ABC
ABC Gifts and Awards. A ceramic chip manufacturer.​
ABS
A type of plastic used to make inexpensive poker chips. A metal slug is added to add heft to the chip.​
ACB
Atlantic City Boardwalk chips​

American mold. Originally owned by ASM. Now owned by CPC.​
AS
Aurora Star chips​
ASM
Atlantic Standard Molding. A compression molded(clay) chip manufacturer. Originally based out of Portland, ME. The company was sold and moved to Las Vegas.​
ASM LV
American Standard Molding based in Las Vegas, NV. LV was frequently added by members to differentiate between ASM (Atlantic Standard Molding) and ASM (American Standard Molding)​

Barrel
A quantity of 20 chips.​
BCC
Blue Chip Company. A compression molded clay chip manufacturer. Was owned by the Endy family, original owner of Paulson. Bought out by GPI.​
BG / B&G
Bourgogne et Grasset. A manufacturer of high end plastic casino chips. Owned by GPI.​
BJ
Bud Jones. A manufacturer of high end plastic casino chips. Owned by GPI.​
Blank
A chip without a label, inlay, hot stamp, or ink.​
BTP
Big Top Poker chips​

California (Cali) colors
A color scheme for chips in California. Differs from Vegas colors.​
CC
China clay chips. A type of composite chip made to feel more like clay poker chips. No points for guessing where they're manufactured.​
CC&GTCC
Casino chip and gaming token collectors club.​
ChipCo
Former manufacturer of high end ceramic chips. Currently out of business. Assets have been purchased by Palm Gaming International.​
CIC
A type of poker chip with a Coin In the Center.​
Circulated
A cardroom or casino chip that has seen some playing time while the casino was open.​
Compression molding
A chip manufacturing process. Chips are placed in a press where heat and pressure are applied.​

Crystal Park casino chips​
CPC
Classic Poker Chips (purchased assets from the now defunct ASM LV)​
CPS
Championship Poker Series chips​
CSQ
Circle square mold. Originally owned by ASM. Now owned by CPC.​

Overly large chip, refers to the size of the Hat in the Hat and Cane mold on 48mm + chips​

Horsehead mold. So named because each horse's head faces to the left.​
Hot stamp
A foil stamp embedded in certain types of poker chips. Some casinos use hot stamped chips for tournaments or as fractionals.​
Hourglass
Another ASM owned chip mold. (now CPC)​
Hybrid Ceramic
A ceramic chip that has a recessed center for a decal/sticker.​

Inlay
The printed center of a compression clay chip is known as an inlay. They are very hard to remove without damaging the chip. Only compression clay chips can have an inlay and can only be applied during production.​
Insert
Another name for edgespot. So named because the base chip has material removed and the resulting color is inserted in it's place.​

A $2.50 denomination chip. Typically pink.​
Spinners
A chip that spins or causes other chips to spin when placed in a stack. Can be caused by manufacturing defects or by an aftermarket label that lays above the chip edge.​
SSC
Suited speed cloth. A type of cloth used as the playing surface on poker tables.​

Unicorns
Also known as "Unis." A Chipco plastic chip with a Unicorn mold.​

The United States Playing Card Company. Current owner of the Kem line of plastic playing cards.​
