I saw a pic of your table last year and fell in love. This is my first table build. Should have went 6” rail rather than 5” and I got my nail heads a little too close but I’m happy with it. I can see how you guys have half a dozen builds under your belts. But it’s not perfect!

I think you did an amazing job, your table is gorgeous. Regarding going with 6 “ instead of 5, is this because 5 is too cramped/narrow to hold your chips?

No the 5” rail actually gives you a little bit more room on the table for chips and such. I got a tiny bit of overhang around the edges of the cupholders in a few spots. And I just think the 6” rail looks a little better for some reason, probably why it’s the “standard” rail size. I think you maybe thought I was referring to the betting line? That too is something I’ll do later on, I like a little more space in between my rail and my betting line. Right now I can fit 4.5 chips from rail to betting line, I’ll probably order another one from Tony with a line that gives me about 6 chips worth of space. More room for artwork/pattern and more room for chips and these dudes phones and other bs

You guys I'm going to ask in here, I think it's probably the best spot. I donfeltnamd table topper design and I just ordered up a Gorrila Gaming 45"x72" pub table, I'm looking to see if any of you guys have that table and if so if you can give me the playing surface measurements from you tables from inside of rail each direction. I'm hoping for a few responses so if there are variance on them I can see that..

Thanks guys

I believe @bergs has a pub size table from GG

Finally finished my table.

Followed the YouTube video by dirk made for the most part. Full 4’x8’ table, 6” rail, 2 sheets of 3/4” ply. Tnuts and furniture bolts to attach rail to playing surface. Royal blue ssc with black whisper vinyl. 1” rail foam and pink sew foam with white side up, under playing surface, all from YAT. Thanks to everyone for posting builds and answering questions I couldn’t have done it without PCF.

Gotta ask...how do the table toppers affect the foam railing? I would think the toppers are fairly heavy...I've been considering this for a long while (rebuilding a new table with a topper) but always feared it would degrade the foam on the rail.

Just to avoid confusion ... to most posters table toppers are the neoprene type playing surfaces rather than the covers that can go on top of poker table rails to allow function as a dining table, say, which is how I think you are using it.

For those, sometimes quite heavy, table covers/toppers I haven't seen/read of an instance where the rail is damaged in any way. The downward force on the foam is spread out evenly so while the foam will compress slightly it will come back fine. You'll get more concentrated pressure from players' elbows - especially boney ones like mine.

Dining table covers (we call them DTC's) are no problem for a poker table as long as the foam is plenty wide and has high density foam. @Nymor nailed it, the weight of the cover is distributed along the 6" wide rail with a perimeter of over 200". That's over 1200 sq inches of area for the weight to be distributed. My showroom table has a solid oak, 7/8" thick dining table cover on it for over 6 years and when we pop it off to use, the foam still feels as good as the first day it was built.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, slowly working down that order list to get to our first on the waiting list. Still probably about 6-8 months out before we finish orders in queue.

I read that first as 6-8 months to get through the waiting list and was very excited. Then I read it again! :ROFLMAO:
