Poker Chips in Movies – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (2 Viewers)

Say what you will about the movie "Lucky You" but there were a TON of different chips in that movie.
All seemed to be pretty legit and nice.

I was re-watching Tombstone the other night, and it looked kind of like in one of the games they were using Bakelite chips. Pretty sure these didn’t exist in the Wild West...

Bakelite didn't exist until after 1900, but several plastics had been around since the 1860's, including celluloid and something called parkesine.

First pic is some sexy, sexy plaques and jetons from one of my favorite movies of all time, Once Upon a Crime. Some of the movie was actually shot at the Casino de Monte Carlo, so they're probably real.

Second pic is from an episode of Star Trek: TNG where they visit a "Vegas casino" on an alien planet. This is probably the best shot you'll see of any chips in the episode.

I may have missed it, did anyone post pics of the various chips used in The Card Counter?

I seem to recall seeing various higher-quality plastics/pseudo clays, but didn’t take pics as I was watching.

(The movie is only about gambling on the surface, it’s really more about war, torture, PTSD.)

I was watching Neighbours 2 the other day and there is a small poker scene during the opening of the show.

The characters are having a friendly home game and are using chips you'd completely expect them to use. Claysmith 'The Mint' China clays. I was weirdly impressed with the accuracy.

The YouTube screenshot isn't the clearest so you may have to take my word unless you watch it yourself.

They filmed at a few different casinos in Biloxi... wonder if they used real chips?

Watching the new “Elvis” movie and these shot across the screen for a second.
Never seen this Horseshoe mold before, I thought they were card molds at first glance

lol those horseshoe chips aren't even customized, I guess for this particular shot they didn't need anything specific and told the props guys "I don't care, the storyboard says poker chips, just get me some poker chips"
