Amazed at how much there is to learn about the history of poker chips. Recently came into possession of quite a few and decided to educate myself. The posts in this forum are really helpful!

Does anyone know anything about canceled poker chips? I have some that have a starburst stamp over the original casino name. Thanks in advance.

If the information you are looking for has to do with their value, it’s around a $1/chip.

How many you got and how much do YOU think they’re worth?

No problem man! Musta forgot that you already had the answer to your question.

We see a lot of new members who found chips and got sent here. Most the time the new people (myself included) think they hit the jackpot and want to sell for $4-6/ chip. Most the time someone tells them they have crazy high value.

After the new person gets referred to Pcf they come here and want to know “what the chips are worth” before they list them for sale. They think that someone is gonna go nuts and dm them a really high offering.

New person rejects all reasonable offers via dm and either lists the chips here, too high, and they sit forever. Or they take the time and effort to set up an eBay and try and sell them over there.

Realistically only a collector is gonna buy these and they are worth $1-$2 a chip imo. Nobody is gonna pay more for an overstamped chip than a brand new chip w/o an overstamp.

Only options are sell to a collector for fair market value. List the chips elsewhere at a high price and hope a dumbo civilian buys them.

Or you keep em!

And thanks (not) for answering my question to you. Here it is again.

How much do you think they are worth and how many do you have? We’ve all seen this movie many times before brother.

Don't know how many I have. Going to have to count them. I am not qualified to say what they are worth. I am clueless thus was looking for guidance.

Welcome to PCF! Those are cancelled Stardust hot stamps from the late ‘50s. Looks like made by Christy and Jones.

Pretty nice, check the weight, probably heavy lead. Someone might be interested in milling them to use in a custom labeled set. Not super valuable because they are cancelled.
